More Goodies

23 Dec

Hello everyone! More goodies today. I went to Lush yesterday and thought that I would show you what I got from there. I used to be a LUSH junkie but stopped because it got a bit expensive… kinda how my obsession with Bath & Body Works is waning right now… Anyways, I also go my order from Geek Chic Cosmetics in and reviews+swatches will be coming in the next few days.

From Geek Chic Cosmetics:

Eyeshadows from left to right are Don’t Blink (Timey Wimey/Doctor Who), Newb (Single Player), Ambassador (Big Damn Heroes/Firefly that didn’t happen).

And Lush goodies!

This includes an Each Peach massage bar, Mask of Magniminty, Angel’s Delight soap, 9 to 5 cleanser, small Tea Tree toner, and some toner tabs (which include Dream Steam, Token to the Gods x4, Vitamin C, Tea Tree x2, and Moon&Sun).

I can’t wait to start using these products and testing them out.

Challenge: Makeup Posting

9 Sep

Hello everyone! I just realized that I don’t have many posts that post up makeup looks… thinking that I love makeup you’d think I’d wear makeup right? I started out with posting makeup looks then I suppose I just drifted to some life stuff then makeup product reviews… well that is now going to stop!

I still want to have time between my studying to play with makeup and test makeup products. So I am going to challenge myself to post up a makeup look once every week. This challenge will go on until Dec I suppose… perhaps I should film them as well… anyways, for today I’ll show you my no makeup face or the face that I have everyday.

Challenge begins Sept 13, 2010!!

Skincare Overload?!

12 Aug

How many skincare products do I have to try before I am happy? The answer is A LOT… this is what I have picked up skincare wise in the past month alone.

So I am in the process of testing them all out one at a time… how I test is that I finish all the products that I buy myself even if it breaks out my skin or if it makes me skin drying or whatever I will use that thing until it is done. All this testing is going to take a really really long time… I don’t know if I should even do reviews on them… but yeah, just wanted to share how obsessed I am with skincare products.

Skincare Update

24 Apr

So as you can tell from my postage yesterday you can totally tell that I don’t have the perfect flawless skin that I want due to exams… >.<

The plan to to make this one a long post. I don’t have my camera anymore due to my sister stealing it and going for a joyride in Vancouver (curse band kids who get to go play). The skincare routine that I am using now is:

There seems to be alot there isn’t there? Yeah, just because I have found many things that work for me I want to use it all!

So let’s talk about the products there will be reviews later but just a general overview of them all.

Cleanser – Boots Botanics Brightening Cream Cleanser

Toner – Boots Botanics Brightening Toner

Moisterizer – Shiseido Oil-Free Mattifying Moisterizer

Treatment – Oxy 2.5% benzoyl peroxide, Viaderm-K.C. used as disinfectant, Bio-oil for scars

This skincare takes me about 7-10 minutes to do every morning depending if I’m going really fast or not. The time has upped since the last skincare one… >.< but these work really well!

Putting aside the skincare regime I want to focus on the Treatment aspect of my routine. As you can see I have 3 different types of stuff compared to last time where I just had Lush’s Grease Lightning as a spot treatment and disinfectant.

Since the Grease Lightning review I’ve used it up and moved onto find something new resulting in Oxy and Viaderm. Now Viaderm is only available through your pharmacist and what is does is that it treats rashes that have been infected with either bacteria or fungi. I know what you’re thinking rash treatment on acne? No way is that going to work. Well to be honest with you I was sceptical at first but it has helped out with the amount of breakout moments that I have. Now I have a clear forehead to the point where it absolutely scares me.

My sister likes to use Oxy on her acne and it’s been working pretty well for her. And as for the Bio-oil I’ve still got like 2 months and 3 weeks left to see if it actually works or not.

Whew, long post… thanks for those who actually read through all of it.

Test Phase

17 Apr

So I just finished one of my exams today which was Nutrition…. yes, we do take exams on Saturdays at University.

But putting that aside I’m going to do another long month before its due review this time’s long-term review product is:

Yup, Bio-oil… it claims to help improve the appearance of scars, stretch marks, and uneven skin tone. Just what I needed! So how you would use this is after your skincare routine you would massage it into the places that need the help and it can be used anywhere on the body. I’m going to try to work it on my acne scars and some stretch marks that I have on my thighs due to puberty… it says to give it at least 3 months… so 3 months later the review for those product will come out…

The amount of time that I use this product kinda reminds me of the Shiseido skincare set that I bought which lasted me 2 months and the review for it will be up soon. It seems I like to do long trials…. anyways, just a quick update. I’m going to go back to studying or watching Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World’s End…. maybe both of them at the same time… sounds like a good idea.

New things

20 Feb

Trying out something new today.

Finally got around to trying it out… the texture looks quite smooth with the exception of some berry bits like the seeds and stuff. Taste wise… I liked it my brother and sister did not. To me it tastes like blueberries with a tinge of the sour Acai berries. Now I haven’t tried Acai berries on their own so I don’t know if it is a likely comparison but the tartness in the smoothie does seem to come from the Acai berries. As for what’s inside the smoothie it contains a blend of 180 blueberries, 270 Acai berries, 2 Bananas, 1 3/4 apple, 3/4 pear, and 24 other berries (blackberries and boysenberries). As you can tell on the bottom of the bottle it states that a cup (250mL) is equal to 2 servings of fruits and vegetables.

I can’t believe that it has 270 Acai berries… 270!!

Onto homework and I probably won’t post anything tomorrow. I will see how work is played out during the week back at school.
