Review: Laneige Multiberry Yogurt Repair Pack

23 Dec

Hello everyone! Another Laneige face mask this time the Multiberry one.

Description: A repair mask that you wash off your face for a plump moisturized skin. With a scent of berry yogurt this is the perfect treat for your skin.

Review: I really like this face mask mainly due to the scent. It has a yogurt berry scent that makes it quite delicious smelling. It came with a spatula to scoop out so you don’t contaminate anything with your germy hands. The mask is creamy and when you put it on your skin it doesn’t feel like you have anything on it. Though when you take the mask off my skin looked… shiny as in clean shiny. As for the effects of the mask I have to say that I felt nothing… yes nothing in my skin changed. It felt great on the skin like it wasn’t there but I didn’t feel like it was doing much for my skin. Perhaps my skin felt plumper but that’s how it always feels after I use my Clarasonic Mia. This mask is pretty disappointing and due to the high cost of it I wouldn’t purchase it again.

Cost: $30 approximately online @ eBay.ca

Would I recommend this product? I would for those who are curious to try it but it really isn’t a product that you NEED to have. It’s just a nice treat for the skin from time to time.

Review: Aveeno Positively Radiant Moisterizer with SPF 15

6 Apr

Hello everyone! A skincare review for you today, I just finished this product today and well here are my thoughts on it.

Review: I’m going to be honest and say that I absolutely hated hated this moisterizer. It didn’t feel like a moisterizer and it had weird sparkly bits in it. What I guess is good about it is that it does have SPF 15 (a bit low but perfect for winter time) it does sink in easily into the skin and there is no residue leftover. The pump mechanism on the bottle is really nice as it has a locking mechanism (perfect for travel). As stated before I really didn’t like this moisterizer even though I have oily skin I didn’t feel that it was moisterizing enough. And for the weird glittery bits in this well it’s small but still visible so when I catch my skin in the light sometimes I see glitter on my face. The glittery bits didn’t help with my oily skin as it made it look even more oily.

Cost: $19.99CDN @ any drugstore

Would I recommend this product? I would for those who have great normal skin who wants to give it a boost but for those with combination/oily skin stay away from this moisterizer.

New Skin

24 Jan

Hello everyone! So I have started a new skincare routine and it all starts with a package coming in the mail from the US. My mom apparently ordered these products and they are a whitening line of skincare which will also diminish breakouts as well. I am sceptical about it stopping my acne but I’m going to give it a try. Photos of the products:

The items in this line includes Day Cream, Night Cream, Tretanoin (0.1%), Sunscreen (tinted), Peeling cream, cell treatment cream, hydrating whitening gel cleanser, treatment (toner).

2L Water Challenge

6 May

A challenge! I love challenges! Especially when it’s against myself.

So the 2L Water Challenge is a challenge (no duh) where I challenge myself to drink at least 2L of water everyday. Now currently I am not drinking a lot of water. So if I suddenly started drinking 2L everyday I probably won’t be able to handle it. The breakdown for this is:

Dates: Fri May 7 – Sat May 15;  Goal: Drink 1L of water a day

Dates: Sun May 16 – Mon May 24;  Goal: Drink 2L of water a day

Yuppers! For a bonus photo I will show you my favourite drinking cup.

It’s a sheep!! Yeah, the year I was born in cheesy I know but whatever. And yes, there is still some hyperpigmentation left on my skin darn acne. So hopefully I will see the benefits of drinking water after I finish this challenge. Thanks to Cherrychan108 from Youtube who is I believe currently going through with this challenge.

Review: Shiseido Pureness 3-step System

22 Apr

Woohoo, finally a review on these products. The photo of the used products… heh…

Review: A little backdrop in the Shiseido Pureness line, this skincare line is meant for those who have oily and acne-prone skin. I basically fit in that description so I thought that I would try out this starter set before actually buying the full sizes. What is included in this little set is the deep cleansing foam, balancing softener (a.k.a. toner), and the mattifying moisterizer. When I first started using these products I totally saw a difference in my skin, the pores looked smaller, my face was actually mattified, and it felt like the skin was rebalancing and recoverying from using acne cleansers. Things that I disliked was that it made my skin feel really really dry afterwards and the mattifying moisterizer did not have enough moisture or so I felt. Though after I stopped using the cleanser it didn’t feel so dry. The products did really mattify my skin and is great for those who have pretty oily skin but just having one or two of the three products doesn’t do much for your skin. The only thing that I thought was worth it’s money was the mattifying moisterizer which I bought a full size of which was about the same price as the set that I bought. Overall, I think the products are good but I don’t agree with the price tag that goes along with them.

Cost: $40.00 CDN on sale @ Shiseido counter [hooray for January sales]

Would I recommend these products? For those with oily skin yes but I would only recommend the toner and moisterizer. The deep cleansing foam I thought to be too harsh with the exfoliation beads in it and everything.

Review: LUSH Grease Lightning

21 Feb

So this is my first review on this blog and I will be doing more of these reviews after I’ve spent a good amount of time on the products. There will mainly be beauty products like mascara, foundation, powders, blushes, and skincare items and sometimes maybe a home product like candles or bath items.

This is a review on LUSH Grease Lightning Acne Spot Treatment gel.

Just as a background I have oily/combination skin that is very acne-prone so I thought that this product would work best for me as a spot treatment.

As stated on the website:

” The UK LUSH shop managers and the manufacturing team were challenged to come up with a new product idea. The winning team came up with this super effective tea tree, rosemary and witch hazel gel, a spot cleanser for acne-prone skin. Dab on a tiny bit (with a clean finger) of this wonderful gel and you’ll feel it working straight away. Use it on one spot or many and watch them shrivel up and retire. Go Greased Lightning! ”

Here’s what it looks like.

Review: I mentioned this product in one of my earlier post as a good go to natural alternative to the harsh acne spot treatments on the market. When I first tried it I noticed a difference in my skin and it was great but after about 2 weeks the product began to not really have an effect on my skin. I don’t know if it was my skin getting used to the product but now the product does nothing for my skin.

Cost: $9.95CDN

Would I recommend this product? I would not recommend this product for people who have mild acne like me but for those who have severe or even cystic acne it will help a reduce a lot of the redness.

Late day…

6 Feb

Today was tiring so it is going to be a short post with no photos. Sorry.
Today was New Years celebrations that was put on by the Edmonton Viets Society… it went ok I ended having an okay time though i wished that our lion group wasn’t like the 22nd on the list. Not much work done today and I realize now that I really do know nothing about my nutritions classes and that I am way behind. Ugh, going to do a lot of catching up tomorrow as well as studying for Bio midterm on Thurs.

My skin has been breaking out due to the stress and the foods that I have been eating… ugh, I have to go and exercise tomorrow to work out some sweat and drink green tea to get some toxins out of my body quickly. Well, it’s late and well way past bedtime as usual… Night!
