New Years Resolutions

Hello everyone! New Years resolutions list today. Hooray! I didn’t have a list last year and this is what happened.

I got CHUBBY!! OMG! This is a result of not exercising and eating fatty foods practically everyday including fast foods, cookies, chocolate, chips, soft drinks etc.

1. Cut back on the fatty foods and exercise a bit more everyday.
To do that I will plan to have only one (note ONE) fatty snack a week (that means no more buying snacks everyday) and if I have bought a bigger fatty snack I will share amongst my brother and sister.
For exercise, I will enroll in an exercise class and attempt to at least exercise for about 10 mins a day and take the stairs on a daily basis.

2. Cutting back on beauty “expenditures”
I am sure that I have enough beauty products to last someone a lifetime especially makeup so I am putting myself on a no-buy (except for limited edition products can’t say no to that) and also having a strict budget when it comes to purchasing beauty products.

3. Control finances.
My personal finances are such a mess this year due to me finally getting a job. So with the extra income I feel compelled to spend therefore in order to stop this I will keep track of all expenditures and hopefully the Finance class I will be taking next year will help me control my spending habits.

4. Read more.
I want to become more educated and why not use my extra time to read more and perhaps learn more languages.

So lately I’ve been accumulating a pile of books to read but haven’t gotten around to reading. I’m just going to show you a photo today as there is a lot of homework that is to be done. The stress!!

 

Reading = Happier self

Hello everyone! Lately I’ve been into reading books… I haven’t been reading lately but now it’s picked up since I got time to leisurely read. So I’ve been reading psychology type books and thought that I would share with you the three books that I picked up the read.

1.

This one is for trying to figure out why some emotions are a repeat from the year before and what sort of effect it has. It’s interesting to read about the different factors that effect our emotions.

2.

Since I am going to be attending business this upcoming school year I thought that I would get a grips of what is going on with the world of consumerism. I mean why do we pay more than $3 for a cup of coffee at Safeway when you can brew your own at home for 50 cents. Baffling stuff!

3.

Yes… I must read about food but this is quite helpful I always find that I eat when I’m depressed or happy and food plays a huge part in my life. Since I eat a lot of food it makes me question if I am overeating and if it really is all worth it. You know from my 20 things before 20 list that I am going to eat at 3 places to try the food (as I always avoid it) so it will be an interesting read. (oh and nice to see why I crave certain foods and not others)

Childhood Rereads

Hello everyone! So recently before school starts I’ve been trying to rediscover books that I truly enjoyed reading while a child. I used to be an avid reader until I hit University now I have no time to go and read books. I feel like I’m being left out of the loop for current good books and such. But these are the top books that I read when I was a child and am reading right now before school starts again.

 

Need I say more?

I think everyone has read this at one point or another.

I don’t have any other books I can showcase as the rest are not independent standing (series I loved reading were Goosebumps and Nancy Drew).

Today was tiring so it is going to be a short post with no photos. Sorry.
Today was New Years celebrations that was put on by the Edmonton Viets Society… it went ok I ended having an okay time though i wished that our lion group wasn’t like the 22nd on the list. Not much work done today and I realize now that I really do know nothing about my nutritions classes and that I am way behind. Ugh, going to do a lot of catching up tomorrow as well as studying for Bio midterm on Thurs.

My skin has been breaking out due to the stress and the foods that I have been eating… ugh, I have to go and exercise tomorrow to work out some sweat and drink green tea to get some toxins out of my body quickly. Well, it’s late and well way past bedtime as usual… Night!
