Review: Physician’s Formula Happy Booster Blush

2 Feb

Hello everyone! Here is the other portion of the review: the blush!

Description: A endorphin releasing scent of violets to calm you for a day’s work. The shade is rose a bright pink when swatched.

Review: The have to say that Physician’s Formula have really stepped up their game but the step up in prices just makes my wallet cry (luckily there are sales). I got the shade Rose in the two pack that I bought. It is extremely pigmented thus a lighter hand is needed when applying this blush to the cheeks. Texture is very smooth but as with the bronzer it feels a little bit tightly pressed into the pan making it hard to pick up some product and when you do pick up it’s a little too much. I think the shade is very universally flattering it suits those with yellow, neutral and pink undertones so anyone of any shade can enjoy this blush. Overall, I think that this blush is definately way better than the bronzer and would recommend you pick this up on sale it’s not worth the high price tag especially here in Canada.

Cost: $13-17CDN @ local drugstores and supermarkets

Would I recommend this product? Since the blush is better in pigmentation and wear time then the bronzer I say that this is a definite must for those who love cute makeup.

Review: L’oreal Colour Riche Balm

10 Jan

Hello everyone! Another NEW drugstore product review today I really wanted to find some of the new Maybelline products (especially the Dream Bouncy blushes) but it hasn’t been released in any drugstore in my city so I guess I’ll just have to stalk the drugstores for a little bit. ^-^ Anyways, onto the balm review!

Description: An tinted lip balm that gives 8 hours of hydration to the lips. The shades I picked up were 218 Rose Elixir and 318 Heavenly Berry.

Review: I have to put a disclaimer out there DO NOT EAT THIS LIP BALM!! Seriously don’t try to lick it or anything it tastes like nasty chemicals. Ugh, I felt so sorry for my tongue while I was testing these lip balms out. As for the claims they are semi-right the lip balms are hydrating but for about 1 hour then they fade and I have to reapply. Texture is very smooth and glides easily across the lips. Pigmentation isn’t the greatest I was sort of expecting these to be similar to Revlon Lip Butters but I was wrong (duh look at the name). Overall, for the price that you are paying for this I would just recommend buying a regular lip balm that works better than this.

Cost: $6-9CDN @ various drugstores and supermarkets

Would I recommend this product? For the price that you are paying I don’t think that this is worth it. Save yourself some money don’t pick this up but pick up the Revlon Lip butter they are much better than these guys by the way the review is here.

Review: Shiseido Pureness 3-step System

22 Apr

Woohoo, finally a review on these products. The photo of the used products… heh…

Review: A little backdrop in the Shiseido Pureness line, this skincare line is meant for those who have oily and acne-prone skin. I basically fit in that description so I thought that I would try out this starter set before actually buying the full sizes. What is included in this little set is the deep cleansing foam, balancing softener (a.k.a. toner), and the mattifying moisterizer. When I first started using these products I totally saw a difference in my skin, the pores looked smaller, my face was actually mattified, and it felt like the skin was rebalancing and recoverying from using acne cleansers. Things that I disliked was that it made my skin feel really really dry afterwards and the mattifying moisterizer did not have enough moisture or so I felt. Though after I stopped using the cleanser it didn’t feel so dry. The products did really mattify my skin and is great for those who have pretty oily skin but just having one or two of the three products doesn’t do much for your skin. The only thing that I thought was worth it’s money was the mattifying moisterizer which I bought a full size of which was about the same price as the set that I bought. Overall, I think the products are good but I don’t agree with the price tag that goes along with them.

Cost: $40.00 CDN on sale @ Shiseido counter [hooray for January sales]

Would I recommend these products? For those with oily skin yes but I would only recommend the toner and moisterizer. The deep cleansing foam I thought to be too harsh with the exfoliation beads in it and everything.
