Review: Quo Summer Fantasy Palette – Beautiful

10 Jun

Hello everyone! So finally I get around to review this palette. There are two other variations of this palette the only thing that varies between the palettes are the eyeshadow colors. The other palettes are called Fame and Celebrity.

(5th swatch in is the blush blended together)

Review: Beautiful really is… pretty (thought I was going to type beautiful didn’t you?). It has pretty shades that are workable for any skintone and the feel of these are sooo soft and silky it’s great. Pigmentation is so-so it’s not the most pigmented product out there but it’s good as you can build up the color as needed. There is no scent from these and lasts for about a regular workday so 6-8 hours. For the eyeshadow best to use primer underneath as it can slip and slide as the shades are just super silky. Overall a pretty great travel palette but I wish instead of two spongetip applicators I would like a brush and maybe an applicator.

Cost: $20CDN exclusively @ Shoppers Drug Mart Limited Release

Would I recommend this product? I would totally recommend this palette and it’s pretty multi-talented and perfect for travelling around.

Concept of Beauty 2 – Face

5 May

This is the second portion of the Concept of Beauty. For the first post please go to:

Comparisons of facial structures this time and what is ideal in both Asia and the West. Here is where lots of ideals are the same or so I find.

The Asian ideal face is to look basically Western.

A high nose bridge, round small face, big eyes, beautiful glowing skin and long dark hair is considered ideal in Asia… like this person:

I do not know what the ideal Western beauty is as there is so much variation in modern times but I can tell you what the ideal was back in the day.

Cherub cheeks, porcelain skin, petite shapes on the face. Nowadays… so much variation but I guess that it’s just the culture that we live in here in America. ^_^

I find that even though it is ideal to attempt to look Western most asian people do not look that the girl pictured above.

For example, me ^_^

I have a strong jawline, face structure is not a round shape, my eyes are small, and my nose is a button nose (which is very cute in my sense) but these features are not ideal in an asian person. If I had a defined jawline, smaller and defined nose, bigger eyeballs and a round face I would be pretty. But I’m not and I still like myself for who I am.

I find that if everyone had the same face the world would be dull and boring. Wise words of the day is ‘Spread love not hate’ and ‘Love yourself for who you are’.

Review: Joe Fresh Blush in Pink

2 Mar

A review as stated above. Here is what the product looks like:

Review: So I picked up the blush because I thought it looked pretty in the pan and the packaging was so modern looking with the plastic and everything. When I first tried on this blush it was actually quite shimmery so I used a little next time and it illuminated my cheeks and overall a really nice highlight blush combination. As you can tell I have hit pan on this blush and I think that it is best to use this type of blush in the winter as it gives your skin this really nice glow. I found that it works nice in the summer as well I like to wear powder blushes in the summer just cause cream blushes tend to melt off my face due to the heat. The pigmentation isn’t that bad it isn’t overly sheer nor is it like heavy pigmentation something in between so just one or two swipes across your face will leave it with a nice pink color on your cheeks. As for the texture of the blush it is a nice powdery feel that just glides over your skin the powder is finely milled so there are no inconsistencies. Overall, I really liked this blush and would definately repurchase it.

Cost: $6.00CDN

Would you recommend this product to others? I totally would! Don’t be taken aback by the shimmers that this blush has and with just a $6CDN pricetag it is one of the cheaper and nice blushs you’ll ever try!

Anne Hathaway

8 Feb

Yes, you have guessed it… today’s topic is about Anne Hathaway. So pretty!! >.<
I just wanted to post this because not only have I recently rewatched Get Smart! but I have also saw something interesting today as well. Mainly this poster:

I saw this poster just outside the Bay while I was on my way to school and it reminded my how drop-dead gorgeous Anne is! So I thought I would share this promotional poster with everyone. The Bay has begun to repromote the Magnifique perfume once again since it was released… 3 years ago? I’m not a huge perfume person but I’m slowly getting into scents. Being a person with a pretty good nose I can’t wait to sniff this one out.
