Review: theBalm Bahama Mama Bronzer

8 Mar

Hello everyone! I have picked up this bronzer lately and since I’m not really a bronzer person I mainly use this as a contour or sometimes a blush.

Review: I’m not a cheek product type of girl and probably won’t get into it any time soon but I got this as a gift with purchase. This is actually a really nice natural looking bronzer and it gives a nice sun-kissed look to my skin. The color is matte, no shimmer and isn’t orange like some other bronzers on the market. It is very pigmented, smooth powder with a soft brown undertone and is also great for contouring (especially in the winter months where I’m paler than my usual skintone) but put on too much it can look a little muddy on the skin. Packaging is flimsy cardboard and it makes it easy to dirty the packaging with the bronzer and it isn’t travel friendly I feel as if the powder will break if I take it travelling.

Cost: $26CDN @ Rexall pharmacies or $19USD

Would I recommend this product? I would recommend this product for those looking for a natural looking bronzer but this will not work for those with darker skin tones (might not show up).

Review: Maybelline Dream Matte Powder

26 Jul

Another popular powder discussed on Youtube. Notice how long it takes me to go and get a popular product raved on Youtube.

Review: A very well liked powder from Youtubers with oily skin (Rimmel Stay Matte is the other I have yet to try it) and I have to agree with those Youtubere. This powder is very soft and silky and it feels like nothing on the skin (that is how makeup should feel like). My shade is in Medium but I still find it quite light for my summer skin but it still works as a setting powder. Nothing else to say about this product it really does work to control the oiliness of your skin. What I didn’t like about it was that if you applied too much you would end up looking chalky… not to self don’t apply too much.

Cost: $7.99CDN @ Shoppers Drug Mart

Would I recommend this product? I would recommend this product for those who have oily skin it really does keep the skin matte but for how long varies on how much oil you produce in a day.

Review: Physician’s Formula Organic Wear Loose Powder

4 Mar

Wow… long title. Anyways… photo!

Review: Physicians Formula has developed a line of organic makeup for those who are scared or allergic to all the chemicals put in any other makeup product. My first loose powder that I purchased… I have to say when I first used it I wasn’t a happy person. First off the smell that greets you when you use this all-over your face is… how to describe it earthy? It was a really bark-like smell that really stood out. It comes in a variety of shades which is great for those who uses powder foundation but I also think that they should develop a translucent version or have a more broad-band color range (doesn’t give us Asians much to work with). The texture is quite finely milled and really doesn’t feel like you are putting powder on your face which is a nice bonus. Other than the smell of the product which you’ll get used to as it takes a while to get through one of these suckers it is a pretty good setting powder.

Cost: $19.99CDN

Would I recommend this product? I would recommend this product for people who want to be eco-friendly or don’t particularly care about product smells.

Review: Joe Fresh Blush in Pink

2 Mar

A review as stated above. Here is what the product looks like:

Review: So I picked up the blush because I thought it looked pretty in the pan and the packaging was so modern looking with the plastic and everything. When I first tried on this blush it was actually quite shimmery so I used a little next time and it illuminated my cheeks and overall a really nice highlight blush combination. As you can tell I have hit pan on this blush and I think that it is best to use this type of blush in the winter as it gives your skin this really nice glow. I found that it works nice in the summer as well I like to wear powder blushes in the summer just cause cream blushes tend to melt off my face due to the heat. The pigmentation isn’t that bad it isn’t overly sheer nor is it like heavy pigmentation something in between so just one or two swipes across your face will leave it with a nice pink color on your cheeks. As for the texture of the blush it is a nice powdery feel that just glides over your skin the powder is finely milled so there are no inconsistencies. Overall, I really liked this blush and would definately repurchase it.

Cost: $6.00CDN

Would you recommend this product to others? I totally would! Don’t be taken aback by the shimmers that this blush has and with just a $6CDN pricetag it is one of the cheaper and nice blushs you’ll ever try!
