Review: Etude House Dream-on Loose Powder

2 Mar

Hello everyone! An Etude House post today I’ve been neglecting my loose powder from Project 10 Pan and have been using this one. No reason why I just am…

Description: The loose powder of your dreams. A translucent shade powder made to set makeup.

Review: I really like this powder and the pretty packaging helps earn lots of point in my book too. I mean look at all in intricate designs on the top of the lid. Etude House packaging always seems to work its way into my heart. Anyways, the powder is translucent (of course); it is finely milled so the powder just glides across your face. Now as for the wear time I find that this at times helps keep my face oil-free for about 2 extra hours on top of the foundation wear time. Though if I wear a primer underneath my foundation and powder it will last longer. There is a light floral scent with this and goes away after applying the powder. Overall, I really like this powder and works great if only I didn’t have to wait for it everytime…

Cost: $14-16CDN @ online sites (eBay) *Note: The price includes shipping fees.

Would I recommend this product? I would, this is a great setting powder but if only you didn’t have to wait for air mail time and the large size of the powder.

Review: Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Skin Protectorant

10 Jan

Hello everyone! A must have for dry Canadian weather for me especially since we’ve had a weird winter… but it was really windy today and this product came handy.

Description: (taken off the packaging) Smoothes and softens skin. Protects agains and helps alleviate symptoms of chapping, peeling, and windburn due to dryness from exposure from the elements.

Review: I want to mention why I bought this product even though you don’t get much for the price (50 mL). The cream was purchased because I am once again using Tretinoin/Vitamin A cream which essentially allows the skin to exfoliate faster and due to the faster exfoliation I get lots of dead skin cells still attached to my skin but doesn’t want to come off. Leaving these weird white hanging things off my face (my mom once thought I had a white beard). So this cream has helped with the hanging dead things by temporarily glueing it back together with my normal skin. But I digress so let’s get going on the review.
This has a really intense herbal scent I couldn’t stand it the first time I used it but now I’m all like meh. But warning to those who are sensitive to scents this is REALLY strong. The packaging is very classy (as expected of Elizabeth Arden I suppose) though when you finish up a tube you gotta cut open the tube to get everything out (stuff this expensive needs to be used ALL up). The texture is like thick vaseline that takes some time to spread evenly across your face. I use a little bit to spread across my face and put more on areas that are flaking extremely bad. This does not work well under makeup but it works nicely on top of makeup (the sticky base just makes everything stick and not blend very well). I really like this product for living up to it’s claims. Overall, this has made my life a lot nicer without having to worry about people seeing dead flaky skin.

Cost: $25CDN @ Shoppers Drug Mart Beauty Boutique or any counters within The Bay or Sears or online

Would I recommend this product? I would for those who live in cold climates and those who are suffering from dry flaky skin.

Review: Laneige Water Sleeping Pack_EX

23 Dec

Hello everyone! It’s been a while since a skincare review. This is a product that I’ve been using for some time now and I would like to share with you my thoughts.

Description: A sleep-in face mask that will restore moisture into your skin to make it soft and plump with the light gel-like texture.

Review: I’ve been using this product for a while now (approximately 6 months) and I have to say the initial reaction is great but as time goes by I feel as though the mask wasn’t as effective enough. The mask comes with a spatula to make sure that your germy hands don’t contaminate the product. It is a gel like cosistency and works into the skin very well. Absorbs quite quickly and the scent is a light clean scent I have no idea how to describe it. As far as masks go it is a really nice mask but with all masks it is not a necessity so for just one or two effective times I have used the mask it doesn’t break the cost of purchasing it. So I won’t be repurchasing it but those who are curious feel free to try it, it really is a nice mask just not for me.

Cost: $30 approximately online @ eBay

Would I recommend this product? For those who are curious, have money and time feel free to try it, it really is a nice mask just not for me.

Review: Laneige Multiberry Yogurt Repair Pack

23 Dec

Hello everyone! Another Laneige face mask this time the Multiberry one.

Description: A repair mask that you wash off your face for a plump moisturized skin. With a scent of berry yogurt this is the perfect treat for your skin.

Review: I really like this face mask mainly due to the scent. It has a yogurt berry scent that makes it quite delicious smelling. It came with a spatula to scoop out so you don’t contaminate anything with your germy hands. The mask is creamy and when you put it on your skin it doesn’t feel like you have anything on it. Though when you take the mask off my skin looked… shiny as in clean shiny. As for the effects of the mask I have to say that I felt nothing… yes nothing in my skin changed. It felt great on the skin like it wasn’t there but I didn’t feel like it was doing much for my skin. Perhaps my skin felt plumper but that’s how it always feels after I use my Clarasonic Mia. This mask is pretty disappointing and due to the high cost of it I wouldn’t purchase it again.

Cost: $30 approximately online @ eBay.ca

Would I recommend this product? I would for those who are curious to try it but it really isn’t a product that you NEED to have. It’s just a nice treat for the skin from time to time.

Review: ELF Luscious Liquid Lipstick

13 Jun

Hello everyone! A review from ELF (eyelipsface.com) and yeah… it was different than what I was expecting.

(L-R: Raspberry, Strawberry, Perfect Pink)

Review: The shades I got are Raspberry (darker mauvy purple based pink), Strawberry (a bright red shade), and Perfect Pink (a bright blue-based pink). This is very similar to a pigmented lipgloss which is alright but from the product title I would have expected it to be a lipstick. It works great as a gloss and is quite pigmented and the color is quite buildable. There is a slight mint scent to this but no plumping sort of feeling is felt on the lips. The color lasts for about 2-3 hours and the color can also work as a stain once the gloss has worn away. The packaging isn’t that great but still works you just have to twist it more than 10 times to get product out at the beginning. A con is the applicator I feel that the sponge actually absorbs the product than places it on your lips and well it’s only available online for Canadians. For Americans you can easily purchase it at a Target store… Canadians = online and online buying can be a hassle especially the wait times. I had to wait about 2 weeks before my package came in and that’s about avergae for any Canadian post parcel mail.

Cost: $1.00USD @ eyeslipsface.com

Would I recommend this product? I would recommend this product for those interested in trying a product at an extremely low price point.
