When is enough?

8 Jun

Hello everyone! So the question that I have today is when do you know you have enough stuff; in my case beauty products. I admit to being a product hoarder but to be honest there really is no reason why I have so much stuff. I use most of the products on a daily basis but the pile just seems to keep growing.

Things like body lotions, hair and skincare products and most of all makeup. I like all these things and to be honest it doesn’t look like I have a hoarding problem but if I do this:

Oh my… there are a lot of products to use. So I have set a goal for myself to finish a majority of these products (especially makeup products) by September as well as to NOT PURCHASE anything new. That gives me some time and I can monitor how many products that I finish and how long it took which will in turn give me an idea on how to finish up the rest of the products. Also, by stopping in September it will give me a chance to see the awesome fall and winter collections which I will most likely purchase. I think it will be difficult to stay on track so I employed a robot whom I am a HUGE fan of to help keep me on track.

The trainer:

Wall-E hates wasting products so he’ll encourage me to use every last drop! Attempt at being eco-concious.

And hey, even if I don’t finish some products it’s going to be okay I have the rest of the year anyways!

EDIT: Just so that no one freaks out all of this was purchased over a period of 3 years. I did not go out one day and decide to buy that many products in one go. ^-^

20 things before 20

18 May

Hello everyone! So I have a 20 things before 20 list which is a list I compiled of 20 things to do before I turn 20 this September (19 to be specific). I have some time before my birthday so this list is to help me go through things that I would never do if I didn’t have a timeline. So here is my list:

1. Finish my embroidery project.

2. Read Watchmen.

3. Buy an iPad 2… enough said

4. Go to Animethon 18 which is on Aug 5-7 this year. I will be planning to go for only one day I don’t think I can get off work that easily.

5. Finish Wa-loli Kuro outfit. I started this project 3 years ago and have never finished it better late then never right?

6. Obtain a mushroom farm… kinda like this:

7. Pay mum & dad $100 from my first paycheck as well as my brother $100 (cuz I owe him for all the lunches he’s treated me to) and for my little sister $40 (she complains that she doesn’t have money all the time). Hopefully this one will be soon. ^-^

8. Get a library card… since I’m an adult I have to go get my own library card but I’ve just been lazy to go get one… I will get one though.

9. Start Youtube videos… something I’ve been wanting to do since last year but never had courage or time to make videos and put it up. I will do it for sure!!

10. Determine birthday present wishlist. I know that the iPad is on this list for a reason…

11. Determine 2 year financial plan. Since I plan to go to Japan in the upcoming 2 years I have to plan to make sure that I have enough money while travelling and such. Thus this plan… it’s going to take a lot of brain power that’s why I keep putting it aside.

12. Stay a neat freak… yeah this photo really shows how much I need to stay a neat freak.

13. Continue to study Japanese and Chinese. This one I won’t be doing anytime soon until school starts in September. I will be attending a Sat language class in Sept.

14. Try out a different martial arts even if it’s just one class I would like to try something different. Perhaps kung fu?

15. Attemp yoga/pilates. I would really like to try this but I don’t have much money to spend it on a class (financial plan) so I will learn from a book/video from the library (need library card) or Youtube is a great resource as well.

16. Try food from Sbarro, Thai Express, and Taco Bell. I just want to get out of my usual going to McDonalds or Subway to eat. I never try different foods so here are three places great to try out my taste palette.

17. Go to a spa. I have never gone to a beauty salon so I would really like to go to one. Perhaps from Eveline Charles.

18. Go on a staycation. I am planning with my brother and sister that we should go to the car museum in Wetaskiwin and possibly the Aviation museum in Alberta. But other things for a staycation is attending Capital X (summer amusement park) and Heritage festival (showcasing different cultures from different countries) as well as Animethon of course.

19. Play Spyro: Ripto’s Rage (PS) and finish Pokemon SoulSilver (DS). I have not finished these games and would really like to for sure.

20. Attempt to make curry flavoured popcorn. I heard about the elusive curry flavoured popcorn and since there is not a big chance to come across curry flavoured popcorn I might as well make it myself.

I will be updating every time I finish an item on the list and there is no set order to complete the list as long as the list is completely finished before I turn 20.

Review: Neutrogena Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 45

11 May

Hello everyone! A review on sunscreen as summer is quickly approaching with a lot of sunshine coming through.

Review: I purchased this sunscreen due to recommendation from one of my cousins and she absolutely adored this sunscreen. For me, not so much love. Even though the product stated that it has an ultra-light, non-shiny finish, is fast-absorbing, and has a clean feel I don’t think it is. I felt that it just sat on my skin and the oils in the sunscreen gave my skin a oil spill and it just in general felt really icky like what all sunscreens feel like. The texture was thick and goopy sometimes and there was that strong sunscreen scent (which I dislike). I had to blot my skin after I applied the sunscreen to make sure that I didn’t look like an oil spill. It also felt really hard to blend over the skin and just felt like a second skin.  Not really comfortable to wear. Overall this was a miss for me as it just wasn’t up to my calling. I would however like to try other sunscreens from Neutrogena though.

Cost: $12-18 CDN @ local drugstores or Super market chain

Would I recommend this product? For those who have dry skin this will be great as it can provide a layer of extra moisture. Oily skin people beware it will make you look more greasy!

Hoarders much?

25 Mar

Hello everyone! So I was just watching a makeup collection video on Youtube… which is quite common on Youtube and a thought came to me. Why do these young teenage girls have so much makeup? Don’t they throw out makeup that’s out of expiry? For example Juicystar07 has a huge makeup collection but when she took out her mascara drawer I was like WHOA!! Expired mascara!!

I mean I think I have a lot of makeup but at least I know when to throw out products and such. It makes it seem like these young girls are hoarding these products and they keep buying more (haul videos). An arguement that I’ve heard is that they are makeup collectors. *insert laughter* Usually when people collect things they are increasing in value but with makeup it decreases value so why ‘collect’ something which could ruin your skin later on? I also think that Youtube enables these girls to go out and buy products so that they could make videos and such.

Anyways, I just hope that these girls will release how silly they are a little ways down the road (and realize how much money they spent!)

For those who are curious here’s the video:

First Major Purchase of the Year

5 Jan

Hello everyone! Today was the day I bought my textbooks and I also bought some other stuff. I won’t show my textbooks because I don’t think that I have all the ones that I need. So here are the things that I bought:

Samples size perfums courtesy of Walmart original retail price as you can tell is $29CDN but I got it for $7CDN each. CRAZY!!

Retail Cost – $65USD I got it for $40CDN (Yeah!)

Writing books (they remind me of Japanese paper bound books) $1CDN each, Nose Pore Strips – $5CDN, Joe Fresh Eyeshadow in Pale Pink for $2 ($2 coupon how could I not resist picking up a backup of my favourite color?)

*Note: They were all on sale or things I really need (thus the justification) and I bought everything with my own money.

Stereotyping Modern Kids

13 Aug

Hello everyone! Ever heard of adults stereotyping kids?

Adults stereotype children as being good at technology and I agree with the stereotype a bit but it aggrevates me at the same time. One of my cousins was wondering why I couldn’t work an iPhone and was like ”I thought you younger ones are suppose to be good at technology”. After my cousin said that I was thinking ‘Well if I don’t have the money to buy those new products and technology I wouldn’t be good at it right?’

What are your thoughts on this imposed stereotype?

On the Look out: Mar 28, 2010

21 Mar

So this is a product look out that I’m putting up. I’m planning to get this and it is…..

The NEW Nintendo DSi XL!

This is the UK versions… comes in the described as burgandy, white, and bronze. Currently the bronze and burgandy are available in America.

This is a future planning purchase because I have an original DS Lite which still works great and has a bunch of scratch marks from the stylus (going to replace that screen soon though). I don’t like the color selection so I’m going to wait until they come out with some other colors and then I’ll go and get it.

BTW, coming out Mar 28, 2010 in Canada and retails for $199.99CDN.
