Review: Aveeno Positively Radiant Moisterizer with SPF 15

6 Apr

Hello everyone! A skincare review for you today, I just finished this product today and well here are my thoughts on it.

Review: I’m going to be honest and say that I absolutely hated hated this moisterizer. It didn’t feel like a moisterizer and it had weird sparkly bits in it. What I guess is good about it is that it does have SPF 15 (a bit low but perfect for winter time) it does sink in easily into the skin and there is no residue leftover. The pump mechanism on the bottle is really nice as it has a locking mechanism (perfect for travel). As stated before I really didn’t like this moisterizer even though I have oily skin I didn’t feel that it was moisterizing enough. And for the weird glittery bits in this well it’s small but still visible so when I catch my skin in the light sometimes I see glitter on my face. The glittery bits didn’t help with my oily skin as it made it look even more oily.

Cost: $19.99CDN @ any drugstore

Would I recommend this product? I would for those who have great normal skin who wants to give it a boost but for those with combination/oily skin stay away from this moisterizer.

Skincare Overload?!

12 Aug

How many skincare products do I have to try before I am happy? The answer is A LOT… this is what I have picked up skincare wise in the past month alone.

So I am in the process of testing them all out one at a time… how I test is that I finish all the products that I buy myself even if it breaks out my skin or if it makes me skin drying or whatever I will use that thing until it is done. All this testing is going to take a really really long time… I don’t know if I should even do reviews on them… but yeah, just wanted to share how obsessed I am with skincare products.

Review: Shiseido Pureness 3-step System

22 Apr

Woohoo, finally a review on these products. The photo of the used products… heh…

Review: A little backdrop in the Shiseido Pureness line, this skincare line is meant for those who have oily and acne-prone skin. I basically fit in that description so I thought that I would try out this starter set before actually buying the full sizes. What is included in this little set is the deep cleansing foam, balancing softener (a.k.a. toner), and the mattifying moisterizer. When I first started using these products I totally saw a difference in my skin, the pores looked smaller, my face was actually mattified, and it felt like the skin was rebalancing and recoverying from using acne cleansers. Things that I disliked was that it made my skin feel really really dry afterwards and the mattifying moisterizer did not have enough moisture or so I felt. Though after I stopped using the cleanser it didn’t feel so dry. The products did really mattify my skin and is great for those who have pretty oily skin but just having one or two of the three products doesn’t do much for your skin. The only thing that I thought was worth it’s money was the mattifying moisterizer which I bought a full size of which was about the same price as the set that I bought. Overall, I think the products are good but I don’t agree with the price tag that goes along with them.

Cost: $40.00 CDN on sale @ Shiseido counter [hooray for January sales]

Would I recommend these products? For those with oily skin yes but I would only recommend the toner and moisterizer. The deep cleansing foam I thought to be too harsh with the exfoliation beads in it and everything.

A little late but…

3 Mar

I went hauling with my mom last Fri and these were the things that we got. So much stuff to do so I ended not posting it up until now.

So mainly Shiseido stuff… a mattifying moisterizer, lipstick and blotting paper… Oxy looks so out of place…

But the lipstick that I used for my Nightime Foxy Look is this lipstick sample that I got. A really nice cream sheen from Shiseido and it matched the pigmentation of my lips too! I want to buy one but two things currently stop me 1. it comes out in March and 2. it is $30 CDN…. I don’t know if it’s worth it or not but I’m just going to do some more research on the prices of these things to see if it is reasonably priced for a department store lipstick.

If only I could haul every week but that would be really impossible financially and time-wise as well.

Back to studying….

Skin Care Test

14 Feb

Since I have a break for a week I am going to do a skin care test. Some background information on my skin it’s oily/combination skin and I am pretty prone to acne breakouts. So this is the routine that I use currently:

 So the basic rundown

1. Wash face with the face cloth in warm water

2. Boots Botanics Skin Brightening Cleanser (no water needed!)

3. Shiseido White Lucent Brightening Serum on spots

4. LUSH Grease Lightning all over my face

5. St Ives Collagen Elastin Moisterizer

6. Body Shop 3-in-1 Blue Corn Mask + St Ives Apricot Scrub (not pictured) once a week

So basically I have a skin care regime basically to whiten up my dark spots due to the hyperpigmentation of the acne scars that I have. Now I got this set to try out:

This is the Shiseido Pureness set which include a cleansing foam, softener/toner, and a mattifying moisterizer. I’m going to start on this regime tonight basically and try to get through all this. So I probably won’t use all of it at the same time just substitute it all in slowly to see if any of them actually break me out or not. Tonight I will be putting on the toner and if I react to it by tomorrow then I know I won’t be able to use it and then if I don’t break out by Tuesday I will substitute my usual cleanser into the cleansing foam. Thursday will be when I substitute the moisterizer. Lets hope that I don’t break out! Here is me now midday and way into the oilyness of my life

So as you can tell I have currently clear skin with lots of scars and hyperpigmentation in a bunch of places especially on my chin and cheeks. Let’s hope that the test really works!
