Review: Maybelline ShineSensational Lipgloss – Watermelon

22 Nov

Hello everyone!

A review today for a pretty good drugstore lipgloss.

Description: Giving you an incredible shine and exceptional great tasting gloss.

Review: This lipgloss tastes like watermelons and is a essentially red jelly gloss. I personally love it as an everyday gloss the formula is light, non sticky, and doesn’t settle into the lip lines. The gloss lasts for about 3-4 hours without eating or drinking so about average for a lipgloss.

Cost: $4-8 CDN @ various drugstores

Would I recommend this product? I totally would it’s a really great everyday gloss and the range of colors is just awesome. I would have picked up more but I got no space for it boo…

Hello everyone! Today I have a book posting.

I have just finished reading this book and it really was insightful to me at least. I’m a very empathetic person so I can relate a lot especially to the stronger emotions of pain, sadness, loneliness, and depression. What really struck me about this book was the spirituality portion of it all. I grew up in a Buddhist family but I don’t practice the religion and just reading the way to spiritual enlightment really struck a chord with me. Mantras are something I know really well but I never understood the application of praying to deities.

This book makes me want to explore those three options in my life (and the world travel of course); the indulgent, spirituality and balance. A new challenge perhaps?

Frilly Goodness

17 Aug

Do you ever wish to wear frilly girly clothes like a princess? Clothes like these?

I did and that was how I got introduced into the world of Lolita clothing. I want to wear pretty clothes too! Not clothes like these everyday:

(Like the model pose?)

Well a girl can always dream… or I can make one myself… now that’s a thought.

Review: N.Y.C. Lip Sliders Tinted Lip Balm

21 Jul

A review for N.Y.C. Tinted Lip Balms for days where you want colour and a lip balm.

Review: N.Y.C. is a very affordable drugstore brand (hooray for low costs and great products). They have been getting a lot of hype on Youtube as of late due to the new Blushable Creme Sticks (review coming later on). As for this tinted lip balm I have seen many tinted lip balms that cost aroudn $8+CDN so I never did want to try them as I could have gotten a lipstick at that price. But N.Y.C. being sneaky was pretty low cost so I picked one up the shade that I got was Sugar Coated and they have 5 other shades as well. This product smells like cotton candy and lots of vanilla which I usually don’t like but when its on your lips you can’t smell it so I could bare with it. Works great as a lip balm and even throughout the day as the colour fades your lips are still moisturized (big plus!). Since this color is a light pink it give the lips a nice cremesheen shine like you put a glossy icing over your lips very similar to MAC’s Boybait cremesheen (compared it to my friends).

Cost: $2.99CDN at any drugstore that sells N.Y.C.

Would I recommend this product? I would recommend this product it works great and gives your lips a nice colour. I want to go get the rest of the shades!

Tootsie Tippers

20 May

I have never done a post of shoes before so I recently got new shoes and a question popped up.

Would you wear uncomfortable shoes if they were cute?

I am a very picky shopper when it comes to clothes and shoes… sorry if it is a bad thing. >.< But I picked up two pairs of shoes from Walmart (hooray for cheap but cute shoes) and they are both very cute.

Left 2 shoes = old shoes, Right 2 shoes are the new ones. (there are newspapers in the farthest right to stretch them)

Bad thing is despite the shoes being my size (feet length wise) it is not wide enough. Here are my feet:

Don’t they remind you of duck feet? It may look slim… but it’s not photography can be quite deceiving. Hopefully I will do another post of feet types and shapes… but putting that aside because my feet resembles a duck’s feet I always have difficulty finding shoes that are comfortable. My parents won’t let me venture in the realm of heels so heels are always out of question when it comes to shoe shopping (but I will get myself a pair of heels soon hopefully >.< fingers crossed!).

With any kind of shoes I am always trying to squash my feet into a pair of nice shoes and it hurts like heck!! So from trial and error I have come up with ways of coping with the pain.

1. Decide if the pain is worth it for the pair of shoes – I always choose shoes that I can break in easily… patent leather isn’t my thing for that reason or it can be worn right away like flats (I don’t own any flats by the way…)

2. Break in the shoes – This for me takes about 10 days of wear… of course not consecutively as I wouldn’t want blisters popping and more blisters forming for the 10 days I switch on and off.

3. For the rubbing shoe burning feeling – I put on crushed aspirin on the blister or rubbed spot and it would calm down.

4. For stretching the shoe – To make that break in faster for the shoes I put on the thickest pair of socks that I own and mash my foot into the shoe (uncomfortable I know) and it will stretch the shoe out more quickly and reduce the amount of days trying to break in the shoe.

Well, those are my tips… I will most likely post up more things about feet since they play such an important role in our daily lives and function.
