Review: Joe Fresh Highlighter Quad

16 Jan

Hello everyone! A Christmas present review today I hope that these are still available for purchase at Superstores/Loblaws across the country.

Description: A highlighter quad with four shades of highlighting shades that work with every skintone. The shades are a basic white pearl, a light pink with pearl, golden with pearl, and a bright coral with gold pearl.

Review: I really like this product despite the fact that it is really really hard to open the compact in the morning. It’s good since the product remains fresh on the inside but not good because I have to struggle with it every morning when I use it. The colors are not very pigmented but add a very nice shine to the skin (as a highlighter should) I foresee myself using the gold and bright coral shade more in the summer but technically all these shades can be used around anytime of the year. I especially found that the coral shade is warming to the complexion and works with cool and warm undertones. The creams are creamy and apply well to the skin but wear time isn’t that long only 4 hours then they aren’t seen as well as when you first apply it. They blend easily and just feel very weightless on the skin. Overall, I think that this quad of highlighting goodness is a great pick from the drugstore. Pick it up while you can because it’s apparently a limited edition product from Joe.

Cost: $15CDN @ Real Canadian Superstores/Loblaws

Would I recommend this product? I would it is a great highlighting quad, it’s a great multitasking product and works very well. I foresee myself using it quite a bit (though if I actually do or not we’ll have to see).

Review: Limited Edition Maybelline Colorsensational Lollipop Lipsticks

11 Aug

Hello everyone! A limited edition review I haven’t done one of these in a long time as I really don’t like the idea of limited edition.

Product Description: An lollipop color and shades perfect for the summer. I picked up 110 Raspberry Ice and 120 Citrus Slice. Both are basic glossy lipstick with a slight hint of color.

Review: Well as you can tell from the swatches they don’t show up on my hand but there is a bit of a tint when applied to the lips. Strange that it doesn’t work for my hand though. Anyways, the lipstick has a balm like feeling when applying and sometimes it tugs on my lips. It doesn’t dry out my lips but doesn’t make them feel moisturized either. I wasn’t expecting much from the product and it turned out there really is nothing really special about this except for the super bright packaging and the see-throughness of the lipstick. Each of the shades had their own scent which was nice touch. Overall, I would say a nice lipstick for those just looking for a tint or for those who just like quirky lipsticks.

Cost: $8-13CDN @ drugstores and supermarkets for a limited time

Would I recommend this product? I would purchase all the shades as they are a really cool concept with the see-through lipstick but you can get better formulation and pigmentation for the amount of money you are paying. So I would say unless you like these sorts of lipsticks it just isn’t worth purchasing.

Review: MAC Dazzleglass Creme in Perfectly Unordinary

21 Jun

Hello everyone! Remember when I ordered some stuff from allcosmeticswholesale.com well this is the first product I’ll be reviewing from it. This MAC lipgloss was limited edition and is currently not available at MAC counters and stores.

Review: I wasn’t expecting to be blown away or anything but it was sort of like a meh it’s pretty good but not that good sort of feel for me. MAC Dazzleglass Cremes were released back in 2010 I believe in it’s own collection it is a mixture between the Dazzleglass formula (glitter) and Cremesheen (creamy) formulas. I picked up Perfectly Unordinary which is a mid-tone pink with gold glitter. It’s a pretty ordinary color something for everyday which is great and the glitters add a nice oomph to the shade to make it a little different from other gloss shades on the market but I still feel like it’s still dupable. Anyways, packaging is nice and there is no MAC signature vanilla scent. Wear time for me ends up being about 2-3 hours without eating and drinking (I drink a lot of water what can I say?) it’s also non-sticky. What I dislike is that after the gloss wears away the glitter is leftover on your lips… which isn’t attractive at all. Overall, a nice gloss but not a huge fan of the formula.

Cost: $10 USD @ allcosmeticswholesale.com

Would I recommend this product? I would but the glitter puts me off purchasing more of these types of glosses from MAC. If you like glitter than this is for you but if not then I don’t recommend it.

Review: Quo Summer Fantasy Palette – Beautiful

10 Jun

Hello everyone! So finally I get around to review this palette. There are two other variations of this palette the only thing that varies between the palettes are the eyeshadow colors. The other palettes are called Fame and Celebrity.

(5th swatch in is the blush blended together)

Review: Beautiful really is… pretty (thought I was going to type beautiful didn’t you?). It has pretty shades that are workable for any skintone and the feel of these are sooo soft and silky it’s great. Pigmentation is so-so it’s not the most pigmented product out there but it’s good as you can build up the color as needed. There is no scent from these and lasts for about a regular workday so 6-8 hours. For the eyeshadow best to use primer underneath as it can slip and slide as the shades are just super silky. Overall a pretty great travel palette but I wish instead of two spongetip applicators I would like a brush and maybe an applicator.

Cost: $20CDN exclusively @ Shoppers Drug Mart Limited Release

Would I recommend this product? I would totally recommend this palette and it’s pretty multi-talented and perfect for travelling around.
