LUSH Starter Kit

8 Feb

Hello everyone! So I have a guide for you today. This is for those who are new to LUSH products with some advice, product recommendation and a general review of the products. I’m thinking about doing this sort of guide for other stores/brands such as Bath & Body Works, Maybelline and the list goes on. But today the focus is on LUSH.

About LUSH: So LUSH is a cosmetics store that offers bath, body, and skincare products that are fresh and handmade. Big claims for a company but they have followed through and are very ethical in their business practices.

The Products: LUSH is well-known for their soaps, bath bombs and bubble melts basically luxury in a bath. But have expanded their product line to shower gels, body moisturizers, massage bars, hair care, and lip care. I don’t take baths (my mom forbids it thinking that it wastes water) so this sort of limits my selection from LUSH. But out of all the products I’ve tried I love and once I get my own bath tub I would love to try their bath bombs and bubble melts.

Soaps: LUSH has many different kinds of soaps but since I love citrusy/fruity scents I’ve only picked out a few of my favourties which were the wintertime soaps. My favourites include Honey I Washed the Kids (even though it’s not fruity I still like it) and is one of LUSH’s top-selling soaps, Snowglobe only available during the wintertime and I stock up on it because it’s very refreshing; Bohemian another fresh lemon smelling soap, and Miranda which is a fruity soap with kiwis. All their soaps are bright colorful and work nicely into a lather.

Honey I Washed The Kids Soap(Honey I washed the Kids soap buy HERE)

Advice: You can tell the salesperson helping you how much of the soap that you want and they will cut up the price amount for you. You don’t have to spend more than you want to. (if the salesperson is very good at cutting soaps than they will be a range of  being a $1.00 over or under)

Massage Bar: My favourite out of them all is Each Peach (and two’s a pair!) due to the citrusy fresh scent. They have various other scents of vanilla, chocolate floral ones, and even glitter massage bars for those nights out. These last for an extremely long time and is one of my favourite body bars to use in the wintertime.

Each Peach (and Two's a Pair)(Each Peach Massage Bar buy HERE)

Advice: If you purchase two massage bars you can get a free tin to hold them in.

Facial Skincare: I have purchased a few of their face skincare because of the lack of extensive items used in their products. I have reviewed one of their products before which was Grease Lightening the review here.
The fresh face masks are most popular but don’t last long (about 6 weeks) before you have to chuck them. I have no space for these (since they have to be kept in the refridgerator) so I’ve never purchased one. The only mask that doesn’t have the quick expiry date is the Mask of Magniminty and it smells… very minty.

It is a great mask for those with oily skin and my skin loves it. Here’s a scary photo.

They also have cleansers which are pretty cool but some must be kept in the refridgerator.

Fresh Farmacy(Fresh Pharmacy Cleanser buy HERE)

For toners you got two choices a traditional liquid toner or have a spa-like experience with toner tabs. I like toner tabs as they feel really luxurious though my neck gets a little tired after using them. All you have to do for the toner tabs is to drop one in hot water and allow the steam in the water to have extra properties adding moisture, controlling oil, or just destressing your face. It’s a lot of fun and even though you might not get extra benefits it still feels extremely nice.

Tea Tree Toner Tab(Tea Tree Toner Tab buy HERE)

Advice: You can purchase a set of 7 toner tabs for $9.95CDN (a $3.70CDN saving!) only for the $1.95CDN line not the $2.95CDN line.

So all these products I would totally recommend to those starting off with LUSH you don’t have to go out right now and buy everything I mentioned in this post what is most important is knowing your preferences for scents and just picking up what you like. Hopefully I’ve made this post informative for those new to LUSH and I apologize for it being so long… there’s just so much products available at LUSH!

22 Feb

Hello everyone! This is the first project 10 pan post for this year my gosh I’ve been on and off this more times than a bear attempting to get honey. But I will hopefully stick to it I now know much of my beauty habits (good or bad you decide that).

So I got two versions of it this year: makeup and skincare. Yes surprisingly I am stocked up on skincare products but onto the items themselves.

Items: Physician’s Formula Happy Booster Blush in Rose, Skinfood Buckwheat Loose Powder, Maybelline Popsensational Lipsticks in Citrus Slice and Raspberry Ice, NYC Blushable Creme Stick in South St. Seashell, Maybelline Eyestudio Quad in Spirited Seas, ELF Hypershine Gloss in Bare, MAC Dazzleglass Cream in Perfectly Unordinary, NYC Black eyeliner, Wet ‘n Wild White eyeliner.

Review: Laneige Multiberry Yogurt Repair Pack

23 Dec

Hello everyone! Another Laneige face mask this time the Multiberry one.

Description: A repair mask that you wash off your face for a plump moisturized skin. With a scent of berry yogurt this is the perfect treat for your skin.

Review: I really like this face mask mainly due to the scent. It has a yogurt berry scent that makes it quite delicious smelling. It came with a spatula to scoop out so you don’t contaminate anything with your germy hands. The mask is creamy and when you put it on your skin it doesn’t feel like you have anything on it. Though when you take the mask off my skin looked… shiny as in clean shiny. As for the effects of the mask I have to say that I felt nothing… yes nothing in my skin changed. It felt great on the skin like it wasn’t there but I didn’t feel like it was doing much for my skin. Perhaps my skin felt plumper but that’s how it always feels after I use my Clarasonic Mia. This mask is pretty disappointing and due to the high cost of it I wouldn’t purchase it again.

Cost: $30 approximately online @ eBay.ca

Would I recommend this product? I would for those who are curious to try it but it really isn’t a product that you NEED to have. It’s just a nice treat for the skin from time to time.

Masking my Face

4 Jan

Hello everyone! So today I just bought a bunch of face masks for a really good price. They are from popular Taiwanese called My Beauty Diary masks and they are usually really expensive to buy online but I found a local seller so points for me (check Kijiji or local online ad sites).  I bought quite a bit of masks 20 in total costing me $20 (you do the math). October Stuffies

15 Oct

Hello everyone! I’ve been putting off this post for a while. It’s a bunch of items that I have purchased lately… Christmas stuff unfortunately isn’t included because if it was it would take more than one photo and I’m lazy to present Christmas stuff nicely. ^_^ Anyways here we go! Most of the stuff purchases was from the 20x the points at Shoppers Drug Mart so most of the makeup products were bought at the same time (and they were on sale too!).

As you can see a bunch of masks (1 face, 2 hair), Nivea Lip Balms, 2 Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipsticks (Nude Delight, Vintage Pink), 3 Covergirl Trios (Dance Party, Shimmering Sands, Firecracker) and Lipstick (It’s your Mauve -matte finish not my favourite), Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Foundation in Nude, Cucumber Eye gels, Joe Fresh Blush (Hydrangea), the Body Shop Tea tree facial wash, tea tree oil, tea tree concealer, and Vitamin C microdermabrasion tube.

Wow that sure looks like a lot… I hope to use them and give them lots of love. ^_^

Review: The Body Shop 3-in-1 Blue Corn Mask

6 Mar

Another long title…. when will there be short titles??

Review: The Body Shop has a good reputation of putting great products out on the market and for its dedication to finding materials from all over the world and keeping it all natural. This mask is made for people who have combination to oily skin. Since this mask is a 3-in-1 the tasks that this mask does is to draw out the impurities in the skin, exfoliate the skin and leave it nice looking at the end. The scent of this product has a really refreshing smell and I don’t exactly know where to place the scent. When I first put on this mask I looked like an alien! But putting that aside I felt it really take the impurities out of my skin. And when I got to the exfoliating portion and washed it all off my skin felt smoother and cleaner than it felt in ages! I found the mask a little harsh on my skin as it sucked out everything in my pores but the aftermath is having great skin so I have no complaints. Overall, a mask that really does its job and makes skin care a lot faster and easier.

Cost: $16.50CDN

Would I recommend this product?: I would recommend this product for those with oily/combination skin who don’t have time to exfoliate and put on a mask seperately. For those with dry skin The Body Shop does have a mask for you it’s called the Honey and Oats mask.

Spring is here!

18 Feb

I took a bunch of photos today… well I don’t know if it’s considered a lot but it a lot to me?? Either way here they are…

The stairs that I had to climb this morning… x8 = 94 stairs (yes that is exact) and a common sight that we all know and see everywhere. Anyone want to guess?

Yes. there were dandelions on the ground… taped… darn we can’t get rid of them so easily.

Since it’s spring what is spring preparation without a little Spring cleaning? So in order for me to do that I ended up going to get some organizational items and ended up with so much more.

So the stuff that I bought as you can tell is a panda garbage can, razors, soap from Rocky Mountain Soap Company, Clay mask from Botanics, a kid-proof lighter, Oh Henry!, 2 pepperoni sticks, EOS shaving lotion, organizational holders, Got2B Guardian Angel Heat Protectorant, Botanics Skin Brightening Cleanser, and a PC Blue Menu Blueberry and Acai Smoothie. Yup, lots of stuff. I’m going to do a review on the Smoothie later when I drink it with the rest of my family. ^_^

That is basically it for today… going to do a bunch more work mainly Chemistry and watching Youtube videos but yeah, until next time.
