I’VE MOVED!!!

16 Sep

Hello everyone! I apologize for not posting for a very long time but I have finally made the move to another blog (still hosted by WordPress though).
This is really exciting for me but my new blog will cover a variety of topics and will not be exclusively a review blog like this one was. I hope to be a little bit more personal with the new blog and I hope that my current followers will continue to follow me over there.

So everything in this blog is *technically* archived for my own usage but the content/reviews will still be up for those who are searching for them.

Here’s a link to my new blog:

Review: Essence 3D Eyeshadow Duos

23 Apr

Hello everyone! I cam across these eyeshadow duos and thought the design were really interesting and of course, I had to pick up a few.

Description: 04 Irresistable Caramel Cream – Light champagne frost and light tan brown with shimmer, 06 Irresistable Mermaid Kiss – baby blue frost and light-midtone blue with shimmer

Review: I love duo eyeshadows as they are easy to use on a daily basis and you don’t have to worry about eyeshadows working together or in the same color family. This reason was one of many why I decided to pick these up and I also love blue and neutral eyeshadows. Plus isn’t the design on these really cute? I really like that these shades are shimmery as they add a brighter effect to the eyes perhaps lending to the 3D effect they speak of to the eyes. Both of the eyeshadows in each duo are pretty pigmented and blend well on the eyes but if you blend too much you can blend them off your eye (that was interesting when it happened). They were very smooth and was great to work with. Lasting power though not too long without eye primer they lasted 2 hours before attempting to make an escape off my eyes but even with eye primer they lasted 5 hours. Overall, a great start for those beginning to dabble in makeup but not for veterans used to long-wearing extremely pigmented eyeshadows.

Cost: $3.49CDN @ Shopper’s Drug Mart

Would I recommend this product? These are awesome starter eyeshadows with a fun design but for those who have similar shades there is no need to purchase these eyeshadows.

New Years Resolutions

31 Dec

Hello everyone! New Years resolutions list today. Hooray! I didn’t have a list last year and this is what happened.

I got CHUBBY!! OMG! This is a result of not exercising and eating fatty foods practically everyday including fast foods, cookies, chocolate, chips, soft drinks etc.

1. Cut back on the fatty foods and exercise a bit more everyday.
To do that I will plan to have only one (note ONE) fatty snack a week (that means no more buying snacks everyday) and if I have bought a bigger fatty snack I will share amongst my brother and sister.
For exercise, I will enroll in an exercise class and attempt to at least exercise for about 10 mins a day and take the stairs on a daily basis.

2. Cutting back on beauty “expenditures”
I am sure that I have enough beauty products to last someone a lifetime especially makeup so I am putting myself on a no-buy (except for limited edition products can’t say no to that) and also having a strict budget when it comes to purchasing beauty products.

3. Control finances.
My personal finances are such a mess this year due to me finally getting a job. So with the extra income I feel compelled to spend therefore in order to stop this I will keep track of all expenditures and hopefully the Finance class I will be taking next year will help me control my spending habits.

4. Read more.
I want to become more educated and why not use my extra time to read more and perhaps learn more languages.

Well I think that’s it for me. What are your New Years Resolutions?

Christmas Wishlist

20 Dec

Hello everyone! So last year I posted up a Christmas wishlist and I thought I would do it again even though it’s kinda late and everyone I know has already purchased presents for me but I still wanted to put this up. I’ve spread this out considering my tastes in many different fields.

1. Socks. I am a HUGE sock fan so any type of new sock designs or cute socks I am all over it. It’s like my kryptonite.

2. An awesome keyboard like this one from ThinkGeek.com.

3. Make Up Forever Set from Sephora. Enough said it’s an awesome deal.

HD Complexion Starter Kit ($109 Value)

4. Martha Stewart Circle Cutter. It’s been on my wishlist for some time now but no one wants to get it for me…

5. The third installment of the Professor Layton series I have the first two and the new one that was released in October (The Last Spectre). I need to make a complete set!!

And the last thing that I would like is… a Starbucks gift card. I see my sister use hers all the time and would really like one with a cool design.

So what is on your guys’ wishlists?

Review: E.L.F. 32 Eyeshadow Palette – Warm

20 Dec

Hello everyone! Just got this palette from Winners and since I finished practicing some accounting I thought I ought to swatch and review for you guys.

Description: A 32 color palette with tantilizing warm shades. It also comes in a cool tone palette with brighter and cooler shades.

Review: First off I just want to say that I’ve been lately getting into palettes due to the fact that it’s a little easier to fiddle with one big thing rather than 10 smaller items.
This palette is a great everyday shade palette as you can tell from the swatches and palette photos there is a mixture of mattes, shimmers, and only 2 glitters in this palette. I really like the shades as they are warm but the colors are very wearable. The colors in general glide on smoothly and blend easily.
Pigmentation for the lighter shades is not as strong as the darker shades but the darker shades in the bottom right corner do not have good color payoff. I don’t know if it’s because of the formula but it’s not the most pigmented colors. The darkers shades were a bit harder than the lighter shades which was easier to dip a brush in and pick up color.
Overall, I think this is a great everyday palette and the packaging is quite classy looking as well.

Cost: $5.99 @ Winners or $5.00USD online at eyeslipsface.com

Would I recommend this product? I really would it’s a great palette to use and the shades are pretty good it’s great from beginner’s makeup. This palette works great as a gift as suggested with the glittery box and I plan to purchase a few more for my friends.

Desk amess

5 Dec

Hello everyone!

A photo of my desk today. This is what happens after a bunch of projects and working all the time equals to: a messy desk.
