Description: Shades – Little Miss Thing: light shimmery champagne, Rock Out: metallic silver taupe, Forest Nymph: dark brown with green shimmer, Turkish Coffee: chocolate bronze shimmer

Review: I have been really liking cream eye shadow pencils lately they are easy to use and I don’t have to worry about contaminating a whole pot of eye shadow. These are very pretty as you can tell from the swatch very pretty and I like using them as bases and as eye shadows themselves. As a base they last 6-8 hours with a little bit of fading and by themselves they last 4-6 hours with creasing. I find that a thin layer works best and any thicker it will crease even faster. They are pigmented so one swipe is all it takes for a beautiful eye shadow look.  Overall, great products and I would highly recommend them.

Cost: $2USD @ eyeslipsface.com

Would I recommend this product? They are a lovely addition to my collection and are a great price point as well definitely recommending them!

Review: Maybelline Fit Me Stick Foundation

20 Jan

Hello everyone! A stick foundation that I’ve been using lately and thought I should review it before it ends up in an empties post.

IMG_2311 IMG_2313 IMG_2314 IMG_2316

Description: A stick foundation with a oil control core to prevent oiliness from breaking through.

Review: I love the idea of just taking 1 minute to do my foundation and this product allows me to do that. I just swipe on the product and blend with a brush and I’m done. It had an interesting texture of a gel/cream and blended like a powder. The finish is a very dewy/glowy look which is great all year around I didn’t mind it as much as I thought I would. Staying power was unfortunately only 4 hours and then it faded away the coverage is light-medium it covered some of my acne scars but not the new or deeply pigmented ones. The foundation glides on smoothly over the skin and I don’t notice any sort of oil control from the core. There is no scent and the packaging makes it easy to bring it along for touch ups throughout the day. What sucks about this foundation is that there is only 9g of product in it a regular foundation give at least 30g of product so if you are planning on purchasing this note the difference in the amount of foundation you receive. Overall, a quick and easy foundation for those who don’t have a lot of time and not so finnick-y skin.

Cost: $8-10 @ local drugstores and supermarkets

Would I recommend this product? This is a very convenient/easy product to use but for those with extremely oily skin it might not be the best.

Review: Wet ‘n Wild Blue Had Me at Hello 9-Pan Palette

13 Jan

Hello everyone! A fun palette review today which I am extremely excited to share with you all. Wet ‘n Wild is such an affordable brand no matter where you are and I love any blue eyeshadows so let’s get started on the review.

IMG_1613 IMG_1615IMG_2193

Description: An eight pan eyeshadow palette with awesome blues. Left column consists of a shimmering white, metallic silver, blackend navy with blue shimmers, matte black. Right column has a light blue shimmer, shimmer turquoise, royal navy blue, black with silver glitter

Review: Can you tell which color is my favorite? Obviously that gorgeous turquoise shade I think it’s the standout shade in this palette. The colors are pigmented especially with the shimmery shades but I usually have a hard time working with both the black shades in the palette. As you can tell in the swatches both blacks are not pure black and look a little patchy on my hand. This is good because it’s very easy to look like a raccoon if you have a black that is very pigmented. Wear time is average with an eyeshadow primer (7-8 hours without creasing) these are very easy to work with and blend. I just love this palette all year round. ^o^

Cost: $2-4CDN @ local drugstores and supermarkets

Would I recommend this product? Absolutely yes! Even for those who do not wear a lot of blue eyeshadow it still is an affordable palette for those days you want to wear blue eyeshadow.

Review: Shiseido White Lucent Cleansing Foam

2 Aug

Hello everyone! Wow! It’s been a really long time since I posted a skincare item review… well no time dwelling on the past let’s get to it!

IMG_0685 IMG_0689 IMG_0695

Review: This is a basic cleanser on the face and it does leave the skin really nice and refreshingly clean after usage. I don’t really notice a brightening effect on the skin but I like to think that over time my skintone has been lightening up. This works into a really nice lather and spreads easily over the face. There isn’t much else to say that this is one of my favourite cleansers to use if only the price tag was a little lower…

Cost: $49CDN @ The Bay, Sephora, and select Shoppers Drug Mart

Would I recommend this product? Yes, it works nicely as a basic cleanser and has been working on my acne scars to make them look a little lighter in the morning.

Review: Maybelline Color Whispers in 25 Lust for Blush

28 Jun

Hello everyone! I will be reviewing a popular lip shade from Maybelline’s Color Whispers line. I really love this line of lipsticks they are fantastic.

IMG_1720 IMG_1721 IMG_1722 IMG_1725

Description: A light pink “my lips but better” shade cream finish.

Review: This is a pretty basic lipstick shade a creamy “my lips but better” shade that would work well on many skintones. Formulation wise it is a nice lipstick with a smooth glide across the lips and has adds a slight tint to your lips to enhance them. Wear time isn’t great with these lipsticks I get about 1-2 hours if I’m not eating or drinking anything but I think that’s the appeal of the lipstick. That it is easy to reapply and touch up throughout the day without needing a mirror. Overall, a lovely lipstick shade from this line and would love to get more lipsticks from this line.

Cost: $6-8CDN @ local drugstores and supermarkets

Would I recommend this product? Yes, this is a universal shade that I think a lot of people will like to use on an everyday basis.

Review: Wet ‘n Wild Trio in I Got Good Jeans

5 Jun

Hello everyone! This is the second last trio review from Wet ‘n Wild so it is almost to it’s end.

IMG_1621 IMG_1622 IMG_1676

Description: A trio filled with royal shades Browbone a shimmering silver light blue, Crease a shimmering dark navy blue, and Eyelid a darker copper gold.

Review: Out of all the palettes I use this is one of my favourite go tos because of the gold and blue they just work so well together and I always like reaching for blues for some odd reason. But this palette is a little different from the others as the navy blue is actually not that pigmented and is hard to work with compared with the other shades. These shades work very well with each other and is a great palette. Staying power is the same as the others a full 8 hours and 4 hours without primer. Once again they are easy to blend but also easy to blend the color off your eyelid. Overall, another great trio from Wet ‘n Wild that I love.

Cost: $3.99CDN @ Superstore and Walmart

Would I recommend this product? Yes, as it is a very good trio and the gold eyeshadow is to die for.

Review: Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream

26 Apr

Hello everyone! A BB Cream review today as there is an ongoing hype around BB creams in North America I’ll start with this BB cream.

IMG_1536 IMG_1537 IMG_1540

Description: Claims as the 8-in-1 Skin perfector which will blur imperfections, brightens, evens skin tone, smoothes, hydrates, enhance, and protects skin with SPF 30.  Plus there is NO oils and synthetic ingredients. (all of this was written on the back of the tube)

Review: BB creams are magical products and they are wonderful all in one products that just make putting on makeup everyday more enjoyable and quicker. I have experienced Korean BB Creams and they are very different from the North American released BB creams. North American BB creams have a tendency to be tinted moisturizers and there is nothing wrong with the product they just label it differently and there isn’t as much benefits from the BB cream compared to an Asian BB cream. But putting that debate aside here are my thoughts on the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream.
I really enjoy using this everyday as it is not as heavy on the skin as foundation but it still feels like something on the skin (if that makes any sense). This does not have a lot of coverage *correction does not have any coverage at all. But it does give the skin a nice dewy look that can be easily mattified by powder. The texture is a light gel-like feeling and glides smoothly across the skin with no skipping. As for the claims it does help brighten the skin a bit but I haven’t noticed that my skin tone has been improving. I would call this more of a tinted moisturizer than a BB cream. Wear time was actually quite long it can last on my face for a full 8 hours when set with powder either that or because it’s so sheer I don’t even notice it even if it disappeared off my face. Overall, I feel this a great tinted moisturizer with SPF 30 for an everyday purpose.

Cost: 8-12CDN @ local drugstores and supermarkets

Would I recommend this product? I love that this has an SPF 30 unlike others on the market and is pretty good for a BB cream so a definate recommend for those looking for a good BB cream texture and not too much coverage. I would repurchase this mainly due to the SPF factor and that it does last some time and feels nice on the skin.
