Review: ELF Beauty Eye Manual – Everyday Edition

22 Dec

Hello everyone! I got three of the ELF Beauty Eye Manuals and this is the first of three. Enjoy!

Description: An eye palette for an everyday look with 12 eyeshadow shades to choose from. Shades from left to right (top to bottom) Row 1 has a matte pinky nude, a shimmery pale pink, a shimmery gray tone lavendar and a dark shimmery gray-violet. Row 2 has a shimmery champagne, shimmery light brown, shimmery gray brown, and shimmery gray. Row 3 has a shimmery bright purple, shimmery mid-tone blue, shimmery midnight blue, and a glittery black. All swatches were done with one swipe.

Review: The shades in general have a soft texture that is semi-pigmented or pigmented. I found the shimmery midnight blue to be very hard to get pigmentation or any color from. It was a bit harder to work with compared to the other shades. To me all the shades look pretty much similar (based on undertones) so I wouldn’t say that it’s unique. The packaging is cardboard with foam holding the shadows in. It looks alright and considering the price point I wasn’t expecting to be wowed by the packagin. Wear time is about 5 hours considering that the shades are dark and with primer it lasts for 9 hours give or take a few hours. Overall, a pretty good palette but in comparison to the other palettes in the eye manual series this one turned out to be not as unique or user-friendly.

Cost: $5USD @ eyeslipsface.com

Would I recommend this product? I would for those who are beginning with makeup but for those who are seasonned this palette is nothing special and is not worth considering.

Apple is?

19 Jan

Hello everyone! So I was just surfing the interweb and I came across rumours of a new iPad version (which is also named iPad with an extra 2) which is going to come out April/May.

Now I don’t own any Mac computers (all I have anything Apple related is a 2nd gen iPod shuffle you know the clippy kind) so I don’t know if it really is going to be better but all I can say is I ain’t buying it.

Please don’t label me as a Apple hater because I’m not I just don’t see why I should spend more money on a computer that I will eventually throw out in 2 years time. Heck if I were to get a computer now it would be one of these suckers:

A Dell Inspiron One 2305 with a 23” screen and it’s an all-in-one computer. No looking down to the floor to see where the power button is and it’s touchscreen! How cool is that? It also comes with many different options (pst it can play Blu-ray DVDs too) and the price for it is only $1200 about the same price as an Apple laptop. This is my next computer purchase and did I mention that it can also double as your TV?

Just saying that there is a big market out there and it doesn’t have to just include Apple/Mac products.

Review: St. Ive’s Apricot Scrub

18 Jul

This is a review on the tub version. A very debated product in the beauty world either you hate it or you love it.

Review: The first photo looks kinda nasty doesn’t it? But putting the photos aside I have used this product before but that one was for acne/blemish skin with salicylic acid. This jar is just the regular exfoliation, the apricot seeds are grounded quite well in this product compared with the one for acne/blemish skin. I found that the scrubbies for the acne/blemish one was quite harsh while the scrubbies in this one wasn’t as harsh and didn’t feel like I was rubbing my skin with sandpaper. Overall, a good exfoliator that isn’t too harsh and gets the job done.

Cost: tub = $4.99CDN for 500mL, squeeze tube = $3.99CDN for 250 mL

Would I recommend this product? I would recommend this product for those looking for a cheap exfoliator but for those searching for a softer type of exfoliator I would recommend the Biore Even Smoother Exfoliator.
