Review: Bio-Oil

17 Jul

Remember this guy?

Three months have passed and it is review time! I did give this product plenty of time to work too. Short review though not much to say about this it’s either a you hate or love product.

Review: Bio-oil is formulated to be a ‘all-purpose healing oil’ that can help with the appearance of scars, uneven skin tone and stretch marks. I mainly used this product for the stretch mark and acne scars that I have on my face. Sad to say it didn’t work so well on my face as it did for my stretch marks. As for the uneven skin tone I have some but its not that visible so I couldn’t really keep tabs on that. But on stretch marks worked as a great reducer on how big and angry the scar looked.

Cost: $10 – 12 range for 60mL

Would I recommend this product? Other than being disappointed in the reducing acne scars portion I think this is great for stretch marks and when I’m pregnant I’ll make sure to pick some more of this up because it really did reduce the size and the stark white color toned down a bit where it didn’t look strange against my other normal yellow asian skintone.

Skincare Update

24 Apr

So as you can tell from my postage yesterday you can totally tell that I don’t have the perfect flawless skin that I want due to exams… >.<

The plan to to make this one a long post. I don’t have my camera anymore due to my sister stealing it and going for a joyride in Vancouver (curse band kids who get to go play). The skincare routine that I am using now is:

There seems to be alot there isn’t there? Yeah, just because I have found many things that work for me I want to use it all!

So let’s talk about the products there will be reviews later but just a general overview of them all.

Cleanser – Boots Botanics Brightening Cream Cleanser

Toner – Boots Botanics Brightening Toner

Moisterizer – Shiseido Oil-Free Mattifying Moisterizer

Treatment – Oxy 2.5% benzoyl peroxide, Viaderm-K.C. used as disinfectant, Bio-oil for scars

This skincare takes me about 7-10 minutes to do every morning depending if I’m going really fast or not. The time has upped since the last skincare one… >.< but these work really well!

Putting aside the skincare regime I want to focus on the Treatment aspect of my routine. As you can see I have 3 different types of stuff compared to last time where I just had Lush’s Grease Lightning as a spot treatment and disinfectant.

Since the Grease Lightning review I’ve used it up and moved onto find something new resulting in Oxy and Viaderm. Now Viaderm is only available through your pharmacist and what is does is that it treats rashes that have been infected with either bacteria or fungi. I know what you’re thinking rash treatment on acne? No way is that going to work. Well to be honest with you I was sceptical at first but it has helped out with the amount of breakout moments that I have. Now I have a clear forehead to the point where it absolutely scares me.

My sister likes to use Oxy on her acne and it’s been working pretty well for her. And as for the Bio-oil I’ve still got like 2 months and 3 weeks left to see if it actually works or not.

Whew, long post… thanks for those who actually read through all of it.

Test Phase

17 Apr

So I just finished one of my exams today which was Nutrition…. yes, we do take exams on Saturdays at University.

But putting that aside I’m going to do another long month before its due review this time’s long-term review product is:

Yup, Bio-oil… it claims to help improve the appearance of scars, stretch marks, and uneven skin tone. Just what I needed! So how you would use this is after your skincare routine you would massage it into the places that need the help and it can be used anywhere on the body. I’m going to try to work it on my acne scars and some stretch marks that I have on my thighs due to puberty… it says to give it at least 3 months… so 3 months later the review for those product will come out…

The amount of time that I use this product kinda reminds me of the Shiseido skincare set that I bought which lasted me 2 months and the review for it will be up soon. It seems I like to do long trials…. anyways, just a quick update. I’m going to go back to studying or watching Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World’s End…. maybe both of them at the same time… sounds like a good idea.
