Finished Products #3

4 Nov

Hello everyone!

This post has been waiting for a while to pop up on my blog but here it is. Products I have finished this round was collecting for about 4 months. I won’t list the products as there is a lot but there is 35 products in that mix.

When is enough?

8 Jun

Hello everyone! So the question that I have today is when do you know you have enough stuff; in my case beauty products. I admit to being a product hoarder but to be honest there really is no reason why I have so much stuff. I use most of the products on a daily basis but the pile just seems to keep growing.

Things like body lotions, hair and skincare products and most of all makeup. I like all these things and to be honest it doesn’t look like I have a hoarding problem but if I do this:

Oh my… there are a lot of products to use. So I have set a goal for myself to finish a majority of these products (especially makeup products) by September as well as to NOT PURCHASE anything new. That gives me some time and I can monitor how many products that I finish and how long it took which will in turn give me an idea on how to finish up the rest of the products. Also, by stopping in September it will give me a chance to see the awesome fall and winter collections which I will most likely purchase. I think it will be difficult to stay on track so I employed a robot whom I am a HUGE fan of to help keep me on track.

The trainer:

Wall-E hates wasting products so he’ll encourage me to use every last drop! Attempt at being eco-concious.

And hey, even if I don’t finish some products it’s going to be okay I have the rest of the year anyways!

EDIT: Just so that no one freaks out all of this was purchased over a period of 3 years. I did not go out one day and decide to buy that many products in one go. ^-^

Hello everyone! A finished products post as tomorrow you shall be bombarded by something more sinister… just wait till tomorrow to find out. Anyways, I only finished 17 products so nothing to brag about but after a collection picture this it feels like an accomplishment.

Eastern Beauty

23 Aug

Hi! So since I finished my pills for killing bacteria from my doctor (hated it BTW made me feel sick at night and horrible stomach pains) my mom decided to go back to what she knew. Eastern medication. The dreaded bitter Eastern medicine. Which was why I asked about Western pills for controlling my acne because I totally did not want to taste/drink anything bitter. The meds sort of worked just didn’t like some of the side effects and I still get acne but at least not as much cystic acne (that was a painful process of my life). Anyways, enough ranting here are the Eastern medication my mom had decided to get for me.

Anti-acne gel mainly for spot treatment and acne pills. Like the catchphrase for the pills? “Dan Lap Ching a Day, Pimple goes Away!”. Great catchphrase but putting that aside I have now found where to get some asian beauty items in Edmonton. Hooray!

I will try to work this into my routine mainly because I have a lot that I want to try right now. Decisions, decisions…

Beauty Intro: Joe Fresh Beauty

26 Feb

This is going to be another branch in the beauty section of my blog. Beauty intros are introductions to a companies products that I would like to try and I will also post other peoples thoughts on them. Most of peoples thoughts will come from MakeupAlley. Companies that I will review will most likely be from drugstore companies and maybe some higher end brands such as MAC or Shu Uemura.

So Joe Fresh beauty… not much is known about it as it is a specifically a Canadian drugstore brand that is only found at Loblaws or Superstores across the nation.

They have a wide range of products and all the products are under $10CDN. Some of the most listed or wanted products include cheek tint, tinted lip balm, felt tip liner, cream lipsticks, and eyeshadow.

The products that really stick out for me are:

Cheek tint in Nude, Peach, Pink, Cherry, Berry and Bronze. $4CDN

Blushes in pink (review coming up), pale peach, plum, berry, and rose. $6CDN

Fine Liquid eyeliner in black or brown. $6CDN

Lip stain in sheer pink, candy, peach, apple, watermelon, and cinnamon. $6CDN

Cream lipstick in many different colors. The colors that I want to try are strawberry, watermelon, and coral. $6CDN

If you want you can check out all the products and shades at http://www.joe.ca/en/bath_beauty/.

Enjoy!

Review: LUSH Grease Lightning

21 Feb

So this is my first review on this blog and I will be doing more of these reviews after I’ve spent a good amount of time on the products. There will mainly be beauty products like mascara, foundation, powders, blushes, and skincare items and sometimes maybe a home product like candles or bath items.

This is a review on LUSH Grease Lightning Acne Spot Treatment gel.

Just as a background I have oily/combination skin that is very acne-prone so I thought that this product would work best for me as a spot treatment.

As stated on the website:

” The UK LUSH shop managers and the manufacturing team were challenged to come up with a new product idea. The winning team came up with this super effective tea tree, rosemary and witch hazel gel, a spot cleanser for acne-prone skin. Dab on a tiny bit (with a clean finger) of this wonderful gel and you’ll feel it working straight away. Use it on one spot or many and watch them shrivel up and retire. Go Greased Lightning! ”

Here’s what it looks like.

Review: I mentioned this product in one of my earlier post as a good go to natural alternative to the harsh acne spot treatments on the market. When I first tried it I noticed a difference in my skin and it was great but after about 2 weeks the product began to not really have an effect on my skin. I don’t know if it was my skin getting used to the product but now the product does nothing for my skin.

Cost: $9.95CDN

Would I recommend this product? I would not recommend this product for people who have mild acne like me but for those who have severe or even cystic acne it will help a reduce a lot of the redness.
