Review: Covergirl Lip Perfection in 260 Heavenly

12 Aug

Hello everyone! Oh, pigmented lipstick with other properties?

Product Description: A lipstick that helps heal your lips and make them look perfect in 7 days with pigmented colors. 260 Heavenly is a fresh pink color. This is a cream shade.

Review: I really like this lipstick color and I think it suits my skin tone (yellow) very well. The lipstick was a lot more pigmented then I thought it would be so surprise there. Over the course of 7 days I didn’t notice anything different about my lips if anything they felt even drier than when I started using the lipstick. This lipstick doesn’t have a smooth glide across the lip and I don’t detect any scent from it. Wear time is about 3-4 hours with eating and drinking. Overall, it’s a very nice pigmented lipstick for those on a budget.

Cost: $9-13CDN @ drugstores and supermarkets

Would I recommend this product? I would recommend this as it is a really good lipstick but would recommend putting balm underneath the lipstick so that your lips don’t feel so dry.

Review: Limited Edition Maybelline Colorsensational Lollipop Lipsticks

11 Aug

Hello everyone! A limited edition review I haven’t done one of these in a long time as I really don’t like the idea of limited edition.

Product Description: An lollipop color and shades perfect for the summer. I picked up 110 Raspberry Ice and 120 Citrus Slice. Both are basic glossy lipstick with a slight hint of color.

Review: Well as you can tell from the swatches they don’t show up on my hand but there is a bit of a tint when applied to the lips. Strange that it doesn’t work for my hand though. Anyways, the lipstick has a balm like feeling when applying and sometimes it tugs on my lips. It doesn’t dry out my lips but doesn’t make them feel moisturized either. I wasn’t expecting much from the product and it turned out there really is nothing really special about this except for the super bright packaging and the see-throughness of the lipstick. Each of the shades had their own scent which was nice touch. Overall, I would say a nice lipstick for those just looking for a tint or for those who just like quirky lipsticks.

Cost: $8-13CDN @ drugstores and supermarkets for a limited time

Would I recommend this product? I would purchase all the shades as they are a really cool concept with the see-through lipstick but you can get better formulation and pigmentation for the amount of money you are paying. So I would say unless you like these sorts of lipsticks it just isn’t worth purchasing.

Animethon Haul & #6

8 Aug

Hello everyone! A haul post from Animethon 18 this year. Hehe I’ve completed basically two points on my 20 things before 20 list. Hooray for killing two birds with one stone.

Books were on sale buy 4 for $25 so I got 8 books total of $50 but each book is about $15 so I saved around $70.

Mashimaro was $10 and the mushrooms all together costed $50. Lots of money spent but now I have a mushroom farm!! MUSHROOM FARM!!! My sister is so jealous she wants some now. ^-^ Shrooms can do that to people so I’m going to get some more mushrooms hopefully I will have about 6 by the time this year is up.

Review: Maybelline Colorsensation Lipstick in 625 Are you Red-dy

3 Aug

Hello everyone! OMG it’s a red lipstick!!

Description: A true red leaning a bit orange but overall a true red lipstick.

Review: Every woman should own at least one red lipstick but finding the right red lipstick is hard to do especially considering undertones and whatnot. With Maybelline’s Are you Red-dy the color is a saturated, pigmented red shade. There is bits of underlying orange but this is mainly a red lipstick. The lipstick slides smoothly across the lips and is pretty long lasting. On me it lasted about 5-6 hours including eating and drinking. There is no scent which is good and I really like the packaging of this; the red makes it easier for me to spot and pick up to use. Overall, a great shade for any skintone.

Cost: $5.99-9.99 @ local drugstore/ supermarkets

Would I recommend this product? I totally would it is a nice red to own but I probably won’t repurchase because I don’t wear reds that often.

Review: Revlon Colorstay Aqua Finishing Powder in Translucent

1 Aug

Hello everyone! A great product for summer so let’s get on with the review!

Product Description: A finishing powder with bursts of water infused into the powder.

Review: First off Revlon has another similar powder but it is marketed as a foundation, this one is marketed as a finishing powder the kind that you put on after you put on your foundation. I think it works great as a finishing powder and the burst of water on your face feels really nice in the summer when the weather is sweltering outside. Great for touch ups and since it is translucent it goes well with many different skintones. There is no scent as for staying power there is quite a bit I still have to reapply but it stays on for an average of 4-6 hours on a hot day. Texture is a nice silky powder that glides over the skin offering no coverage. Overall a really good product and even the brush that it comes with is a nice addition.

Cost: $15-20CDN @ drugstore and supermarkets

Would I recommend this product? I totally would recommend this product but come winter I don’t know if I want to use this as the powder effects is for cooling. Cool into cool… not sure how that will work out but will be testing once winter comes.

Hello everyone! Today I have a book posting.

I have just finished reading this book and it really was insightful to me at least. I’m a very empathetic person so I can relate a lot especially to the stronger emotions of pain, sadness, loneliness, and depression. What really struck me about this book was the spirituality portion of it all. I grew up in a Buddhist family but I don’t practice the religion and just reading the way to spiritual enlightment really struck a chord with me. Mantras are something I know really well but I never understood the application of praying to deities.

This book makes me want to explore those three options in my life (and the world travel of course); the indulgent, spirituality and balance. A new challenge perhaps?
