Review: ELF Hypershine Gloss

15 Jun

Hello everyone! I’m going to be going on an ELF review run so that I can get these reviews out of the way. And sorry for the amount of reviews I’ll be posting it’s just that I’m really behind on reviews.

(L-R: Flirt, Berry Cherry, Blossom)

Review: The shades I got are flirt (a neutral corally pink shade), Berry Cherry (dark plum red shade), and Blossom (light bright pink shade) So theses glosses are super shiny as it suggests but the lasting power isn’t long for me it lasts for about 1 hour max thus leading to lots of application over the period of a day. Now if it was more expensive I probably won’t repurchase but since it’s a dollar than it is understandable. The pigmentation is very low overall so it can look like a clear gloss on your lips (in the picture I really put it on).  Works greart overtop of lipsticks or bare lips. To me there is a maple syrup scent which I love (love love love maple syrup) and the applicator is pretty good I guess. At the beginning of course you must twist it about 20 times before product comes out. Overall it’s a mediocre product for a good price but I would repurchase because of the scent and I find that I do reach for them much more than my other lipglosses.

Cost: $1.00USD @ eyeslipsface.com

Would I recommend this product? Yes I totally would for those looking for a regular lipgloss and I will be repurchasing more in the future as well.

OMG-ness!

14 Jun

Hello everyone! A couple of quick photos to show you today. My ninjabreadmen cutouts arrived in the mail yesterday and I’m going to share them with you.

I probably won’t use them until I can grab some ingredients without my mom watching (she dislikes sugar). Hoping you all are having a great day!

Review: ELF Luscious Liquid Lipstick

13 Jun

Hello everyone! A review from ELF (eyelipsface.com) and yeah… it was different than what I was expecting.

(L-R: Raspberry, Strawberry, Perfect Pink)

Review: The shades I got are Raspberry (darker mauvy purple based pink), Strawberry (a bright red shade), and Perfect Pink (a bright blue-based pink). This is very similar to a pigmented lipgloss which is alright but from the product title I would have expected it to be a lipstick. It works great as a gloss and is quite pigmented and the color is quite buildable. There is a slight mint scent to this but no plumping sort of feeling is felt on the lips. The color lasts for about 2-3 hours and the color can also work as a stain once the gloss has worn away. The packaging isn’t that great but still works you just have to twist it more than 10 times to get product out at the beginning. A con is the applicator I feel that the sponge actually absorbs the product than places it on your lips and well it’s only available online for Canadians. For Americans you can easily purchase it at a Target store… Canadians = online and online buying can be a hassle especially the wait times. I had to wait about 2 weeks before my package came in and that’s about avergae for any Canadian post parcel mail.

Cost: $1.00USD @ eyeslipsface.com

Would I recommend this product? I would recommend this product for those interested in trying a product at an extremely low price point.

Delicious Cakes

11 Jun

Hello everyone! A surprise post again on the weekend. I am on a roll!! Anyways, I stopped by City Center mall and decided to discover the walkways that connect the buildings together and I came across this place in Commerce Plaza that has a store called Sunterra which had dessert. Yeah, run-on sentence so run on Grammar Nazis. I picked up some cakes for my family as they looked really adorable!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Review: Quo Summer Fantasy Palette – Beautiful

10 Jun

Hello everyone! So finally I get around to review this palette. There are two other variations of this palette the only thing that varies between the palettes are the eyeshadow colors. The other palettes are called Fame and Celebrity.

(5th swatch in is the blush blended together)

Review: Beautiful really is… pretty (thought I was going to type beautiful didn’t you?). It has pretty shades that are workable for any skintone and the feel of these are sooo soft and silky it’s great. Pigmentation is so-so it’s not the most pigmented product out there but it’s good as you can build up the color as needed. There is no scent from these and lasts for about a regular workday so 6-8 hours. For the eyeshadow best to use primer underneath as it can slip and slide as the shades are just super silky. Overall a pretty great travel palette but I wish instead of two spongetip applicators I would like a brush and maybe an applicator.

Cost: $20CDN exclusively @ Shoppers Drug Mart Limited Release

Would I recommend this product? I would totally recommend this palette and it’s pretty multi-talented and perfect for travelling around.

David & Goliath

9 Jun

Hello everyone! I ordered some shirts from David&Goliath for my brother’s birthday present (his birthday is in August… it’s never to early to buy presents) and also picked up two things for myself. I usually don’t show clothing hauls but since these shirts are pretty cool I thought I’d show you.

So the shirts on the left is for my brother and on the right is a shirt and a dress though you can’t tell. ^-^

When is enough?

8 Jun

Hello everyone! So the question that I have today is when do you know you have enough stuff; in my case beauty products. I admit to being a product hoarder but to be honest there really is no reason why I have so much stuff. I use most of the products on a daily basis but the pile just seems to keep growing.

Things like body lotions, hair and skincare products and most of all makeup. I like all these things and to be honest it doesn’t look like I have a hoarding problem but if I do this:

Oh my… there are a lot of products to use. So I have set a goal for myself to finish a majority of these products (especially makeup products) by September as well as to NOT PURCHASE anything new. That gives me some time and I can monitor how many products that I finish and how long it took which will in turn give me an idea on how to finish up the rest of the products. Also, by stopping in September it will give me a chance to see the awesome fall and winter collections which I will most likely purchase. I think it will be difficult to stay on track so I employed a robot whom I am a HUGE fan of to help keep me on track.

The trainer:

Wall-E hates wasting products so he’ll encourage me to use every last drop! Attempt at being eco-concious.

And hey, even if I don’t finish some products it’s going to be okay I have the rest of the year anyways!

EDIT: Just so that no one freaks out all of this was purchased over a period of 3 years. I did not go out one day and decide to buy that many products in one go. ^-^
