Nightime Foxy look

28 Feb

It’s been a while since I’ve posted up a beauty makeup thing. So this is a neutral brown nighttime look… I should do a daytime look sometime soon. ^_^ Anyways, so here is the look:

 I look so white… O.O

So the products that I used are as following:

Face:

Maybelline Pure Makeup in Classic Ivory

Covergirl Fresh Complexion Concealer in no idea what shade

Physician’s Formula Organic Wear Loose Powder

Eyes:

Maybelline Quad in Chai Latte (all colors were used)

NYX Slim Eyeliner in Black

Joe Fresh Eyeshadow in Black (to set the eyeliner which has a tendency to smudge)

Covergirl Professional Super Thick Lash Mascara in very Black (as if I can get black enough)

Cheeks:

Joe Fresh Blush in Pink

N.Y.C. Bronzer in Sunny (discontinued by the way)

Lips:

Shiseido Perfect Rouge in Tender Sheer (sample size)

Hmmm… in the picture you can’t really tell that I have on bronzer and blush…. maybe I gotta pick up more product but I guess it was due to flash that the colors got washed out. That’s what happens when you go on a nightime look that isn’t really nightime…

Anyways, I am quite pleased with myself… I have gotten a lot better at putting on makeup and such so because of that I pat myself on the back. Hopefully I can get more colors and such so that I can try out different looks. The only colors that I actually have are white, black, browns, blues and one green color. Never done a smokey look…

Pet peeves…

27 Feb

Pet peeves… everyone has one right? I just rediscovered one of mine today. People who bother you while you are studying. You know the situation… where you are about to get something right or a great idea for the paper and then someone comes in and bothers you resulting in you forgetting what you just realized. RAWR! It’s especially worse in my house due to the fact that my bedroom is shared and my brother or family like to knock on the wall (since the kitchen is just behind my wall one level down) to let me know it’s dinner time for some trivial matter. Especially worse today as I was doing some pretty intense chemistry and my brother knocked on the wall to tell me to eat my dinner. Well you can’t choose your family but if I could I would.

Onto more positive things today, for me I usually don’t get productive until about 3:00 so I ended up practicing some makeup today. The look will be posted up in another post. I don’t like to mix beauty things with blog things…

But I also ended up depotting my Joe Fresh Black eyeshadow and then realized after it was depotted that it was too big for my Annabelle compact.

That is what it ended up looking… the plastic at the bottom was really really melted and bubbles formed and everything. It took a lot of melting for it to come out.

I’m now comtemplating whether to get a magnetic palette so that I can store in my NYX square eyeshadows. A UNII palette?

Blue Expensive though…$29…

Here is their website if anyone is interested. http://uniicosmetics.com/cart/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=53

Anyways, I should get back to my work and there will be more reviews coming up and other things as well.

Beauty Intro: Joe Fresh Beauty

26 Feb

This is going to be another branch in the beauty section of my blog. Beauty intros are introductions to a companies products that I would like to try and I will also post other peoples thoughts on them. Most of peoples thoughts will come from MakeupAlley. Companies that I will review will most likely be from drugstore companies and maybe some higher end brands such as MAC or Shu Uemura.

So Joe Fresh beauty… not much is known about it as it is a specifically a Canadian drugstore brand that is only found at Loblaws or Superstores across the nation.

They have a wide range of products and all the products are under $10CDN. Some of the most listed or wanted products include cheek tint, tinted lip balm, felt tip liner, cream lipsticks, and eyeshadow.

The products that really stick out for me are:

Cheek tint in Nude, Peach, Pink, Cherry, Berry and Bronze. $4CDN

Blushes in pink (review coming up), pale peach, plum, berry, and rose. $6CDN

Fine Liquid eyeliner in black or brown. $6CDN

Lip stain in sheer pink, candy, peach, apple, watermelon, and cinnamon. $6CDN

Cream lipstick in many different colors. The colors that I want to try are strawberry, watermelon, and coral. $6CDN

If you want you can check out all the products and shades at http://www.joe.ca/en/bath_beauty/.

Enjoy!

Gone for Good??!!

25 Feb

After a long day at school I come home to a happy place… allkpop… little did I know this guy was all over the page.

 Park Jaebeom

He’s…. he’s….. I can’t even say it… he’s gone for good! Now my love for 2PM has dwindled… to me Jaebeom held a special place in my heart. He was the only reason I began liking and enjoying 2PM’s performances but now that he’s officially gone…. I’m sorry I don’t think I can support 2PM anymore.

For those lost on the reasoning behind his leave… please check out the full story at Allkpop.com….

So shocked… I have nothing more to say…

Review: Ecotools Makeup Brushes

25 Feb

A review on Ecotools Makeup Brushes. So here are the brushes that I have from Ecotools and I have been using them since I got them in July… so it’s been about 8 months. Photo of them.

I have the 6 piece set and the powder brush. The 6 piece set includes a blush brush, concealer brush, slanted eyeliner/brow brush, all over shadow brush, brow/eyelash comb brush and the brush roll made of hemp. These brushes can be purchased at Superstore, Walmart, and London drugs. I believe that they are cheaper at London drugs than at Superstore or Walmart but you can look at those places and decide on which ever place you want to buy them from.

Review: When I first bought these brushes I thought that they would be scratchy and stuff but the bristles were really really soft for each and everyone of the brushes. Even the brush roll amazed me at how soft it was despite the fact that it was hemp. Each of the brushes are extremely soft and they feel really nice on the skin.

Now onto each brushes purpose, the powder brush is for your translucent powder but I find that it is quite fluffy compared to other brushes and due to its fluffiness it doesn’t pick up and distribute powder evenly over my face. I still use it as I really like the feeling of it compared to other brushes that I have tried and returned.

The blush brush is pretty dense and really does distribute blush evenly and is soft to boot! Picking up color on this brush is easy as one swipe across your product. A great powder blush brush.

The concealer brush is a wide multicolored brush and since I wear concealer most of the time I usually use this brush so it might seem like its worn out. It is a perfect width across as I can swipe this brush anywhere on my face and still be able to blend in my concealer really well. I really liked this brush as it worked for lots of different areas on my face.

The angled brush which can be used for eyeliner or brows. I use this brush to line my eyes and to me it is the least softest of the brushes. It was quite harsh and really hurt my eyes while I was lining my eyes. But it works nicely as a brow powder brush.

The all over shadow brush picks up a lot of product and is dense but where it lacks is that it doesn’t distribute the product evenly over my lids. Overall a nice and soft brush though.

The brow/eyelash comb brush is average as is any other brow/eyelash comb on the market.

Cost: Powder Brush – $8.49CDN, 6-piece set – $17.99CDN

Would I recommend these products? I would totally recommend these brushes to others who are starting off with makeup or want to be eco-friendly to the environment. They are so soft, great brushes, and are relatively cheaper than most other drugstore brushes (other drugstore brush brands include Annabelle, Joe Fresh, Quo, etc.).

Minty fresh

24 Feb

There is something about mint and chocolate going together so I thought I should celebrate that made in heaven union.

A Cadbury Pep! Too bad you can’t see the chocolate I ate it all. Heh.

So for blogging today not much happened then the usual and finding out that my midterms are on their way again. Ugh… so for the next 4 days I will just be posting reviews of beauty products. Sorry for those who look forward to regular posts… If it was possible I would post everyday but with University it ain’t possible all the time. I will try to squeeze in time though.

Becoming eco-friendly

23 Feb

A while back… about July 2009 I was on an eco-friendly spree… and during that time I was beginning to use makeup so most of my products were eco-friendly or claimed to be. The things that I got from that time was these things:

Physician’s Formula Organic Wear Loose Powder… the state of it now:

Sorry for the bad lighting but I hope that you can tell that I only have about 5-10 uses left on it. Almost at the way… bottom. And this product:

Ecotools Brush set + the powder brush. They have withstood the test of time… but the brush roll has not… gotta go wash it. ^_^They’re will be a review on them soon. I think I’ve used them long enough to know what they feel and how well they perform.

This is a new item that I want to add to my eco-friendly self…

This Bamboo wear compact is from Physicians Formula and I am waiting for it to hit stores so that I can pick it up. There is a rebate on this in which you can get the compact for free if you send in the rebate form. Basically the concept of this is for people to buy the powder or bronzer seperately and then put it in the compact. I have an N.Y.C. translucent powder in which the packaging is horrible so I was thinking to transfer it over to this compact once I get it. Anyone know when these compacts will make its way into Canadian drugstores?? I really want to get one. It is made of sustainable bamboo and the design looks really cute and stuff. The thing is that I know that I probably won’t like the mini brush that comes with the compact. Kudos to magnets for keeping things down and in place. But anyways, love finding new eco-friendly products… hooray!
